Abstract: The rate of crime, intruders and vandals is increasing day by day and the security gadgets still need to be modified so that we can make the transmission of information more secure. To end this, we need to design a cheap and effective intelligent and advance security system which can use advance technologies like biometric, code lock and optical link for the safe and secure transmission of information. By this technique only an authorized person will be able to transmit and receive the data through optical link by using biometric at transmitter end and code lock at receiver end and hence secure transmission of data can be done.

Abstract: With the explosion of information traffic due to the Internet, electronic commerce, computer networks, multimedia, voice, data, and video, the need for a transmission medium with the bandwidth capabilities for handling such vast amounts of information is paramount. Fiber optics, with its comparatively infinite bandwidth, has proven to be the solution. The security inherent in optical fiber systems is a major benefit. The increasing rate of crime, attacks by thieves, intruders and vandals, despite all forms of security gadgets and locks, still need the attention. To make optical link more secure many devices can be used for transmission and reception purpose. These devices may be DNA sensor lock, card sensor lock, electronic eye lock, thumbprint sensor lock and electronic combination lock. In this research paper we are focusing on a secure communication where biometric system can be used as a good and effective security option. An important and very reliable human identification method is fingerprint identification. As fingerprint of every person is unique thus it can be used in various security options. Fingerprint recognition at the transmitter side allows only valid person to transmit the signal. At the receiver side code lock security can be economic and good option to allow only valid user to receive the information which has been sent through secure optical link. During communication over the optical link, automation can also be achieved at the receiver end from the transmitter end. With the help of automation, energy consumption at the receiver end can be reduced upto a great extent from the transmitter end.

Abstract: Communication is an important part of our daily life. The communication process involves information generation, transmission, reception and interpretation. A technical overview of the emerging technologies of fiber optical communication and optical networking fiber optical communications has enabled much higher data rates. In present scenerio it is continuously being noticed that people are very concerned about privacy of their data. But some unauthorized persons, who are little bit advanced in technology, can access other’s data. So to provide security to the people for their data multiple security systems are being used in the present scenario like biometric which is well known for being used in the security purpose and second one is optical fiber link which is also used for the security purpose. Other security systems are code lock, RF-ID etc. So in present scenario the biggest problem is to provide security where secure communication is required such as bank, industry, college and election commission etc. This paper is a proposal to develop a project which is combination of two major security systems that are biometric security system and optical fiber link. Through this project analog and digital data can be transmitted using highly secured optical fiber link while having a biometric security to transmit the data at the transmitter end and having a code lock security for reception purpose at the receiver end. Through this project automation can also be done at the receiver end from the transmitter end.
