TL;DR: An indoor positioning method based on trilateration using Wi-Fi RSSI measurements with corrections to eliminate the noise and the bias is proposed and tested in a laboratory environment.
Abstract: Indoor positioning systems are becoming a required sub-system in many ambient assisted living scenarios Another area that would greatly benefit from the enriched context of localization is the IoT (Internet of Things) device interaction However, at this moment there aren't any satisfying technologies or approaches for precise indoor positioning This paper proposes an indoor positioning method based on trilateration using Wi-Fi RSSI measurements with corrections to eliminate the noise and the bias The proposed method is tested in a laboratory environment and results are described

TL;DR: The objective of this work is to extend the work from PrEmISES for raising the medical literacy of empowered patients by creating a digital library that contains relevant articles from different medical domain by using automatic tool generation algorithms for the creation of ontologies.
Abstract: The work of this p aper is done within the context of European Project E! 8949 PrEmISES 1. One of the central pieces of PrEmISES[16] is the use of automatic tool generation algorithms for the creation of ontologies. The objective of this work is to extend the work from PrEmISES for raising the medical literacy of empowered patients by creating a digital library that contains relevant articles from different medical domain. It should be noted that a large number of persons are interested in finding relevant information about their condition. We have chosen to discuss in this research the automated generation of ontologies for the medical domain. By the use of ontologies that gives key terms from a domain, the creation of the digital library can be done by crawling from the Internet articles which are related to the profile of the user and that are based on the key terms of the ontologies. The articles from the digital library can be used by a patient to raise his / her knowledge and literacy related to his/her diseases.

TL;DR: A formal analysis of the ISO/IEEE 11073 −20601: 2016 Draft Standard for Health informatics - Personal health device communication - Application profile - Optimized exchange protocol is described and issues which can cause deadlocks are revealed.
Abstract: Engineering of medical informatics systems is a complex work because it is at the intersection of several critical domains, among which medicine, computer science, electrical engineering to mention just a few. One critical aspect of such systems is the interoperability of the different components. One key solution for the interoperability is the creation of good standards that will assure the interchange of data between products of several vendors and domains - medical devices, medical information systems, medical data, etc. In this paper a formal analysis of the ISO/IEEE 11073 −20601: 2016 Draft Standard for Health informatics - Personal health device communication - Application profile - Optimized exchange protocol is described. This family of standards specifies the communication between devices that can be agents (weighing scales, spirometers) which measure health related data and managers (laptop, smartphone etc.) that collect the information and can display or forward it. First the protocol was modeled in Promela and then the model was checked manually and also using the Spin tool that performed an automated check. The results revealed issues which can cause deadlocks. However, these issues appeared in exceptional workflows, the normal flow being designed well. This highlights the methodology of developing such protocols: concentration on normal, intended behaviors without dealing with exceptional behaviors. Using formal models can reveal problems with exceptional behaviors. The results and proposed solutions were reported to the IEEE 1073 working group and will be integrated in the standard.

TL;DR: This research concerns Mobile Government powered by Mobile WiMAX technology, which delivers the benefits for Mobile Government because of high capacity, reliability, security and all IP communications targeted for the specific environment of Iraq which pose specific challenges.
Abstract: The opportunities offered by mobile technology continue to expand with the advances in wireless broadband. These days there are a lot of entrenched business solutions, upgraded for mobile devices, which likewise have direct use to services of the government services, work environment practices and involvement of stakeholders. Each advance has challenges. The usage of M-Government will bring several difficulties. Amid them, the most significant for M-Government is the inclusion of infrastructure advancement, protection of information, security, legitimate issues, mobile entrance rate, availability and compatibility. Mobile WiMAX technology is an innovative wireless technology intended to empower pervasive, rapid mobile Internet access to the vastest cluster of gadgets including notebook PCs, handsets, mobile phones and buyer electronics such as gaming gadgets, cameras, and more. Mobile WiMAX conveys cheap networks and it is the first of all Internet mobile IP solution empowering proficient and scalable networks for information, video and voice. This research concerns Mobile Government powered by Mobile WiMAX technology, which delivers the benefits for Mobile Government because of high capacity, reliability, security and all IP communications targeted for the specific environment of Iraq which pose specific challenges.

TL;DR: A general overview of the AIMMS integrated platform and the A IMMS research work and main obtained results is provided.
Abstract: Today digital medical imaging starts to be more introduced in the daily practice for clinical, educational, research uses. The work reported in this paper is done within the context of the Research Project UEFISCDI No. 31/2014, “AIMMS - Application for Using Image Data Mining and 3D Modeling in Dental Screening”. AIMMS provides an integrated platform to support dental treatment methods using the most recent digital image processing technology, image mapping technology and 3D modeling. DICOM files are used for detecting anatomical information and pathological dentistry problems. The platform aims to encourage the progress of computer aided dentistry detection, focusing on building and exploiting knowledge about models that include discriminating elements between normal and dental pathologies scans. This is done through semantic annotations which store information about the structural and anatomical elements, regions and points of interest, as well as information related to analyzed teeth. In this article we provide a general overview of the AIMMS integrated platform and the AIMMS research work and main obtained results.

TL;DR: This paper will discuss the components of the system localization techniques applied within a building and the main targets of such a system is medical care units.
Abstract: The work of this paper is done within the context of European Project E! 9770 i-Light, which aims at developing intelligent systems based on smart luminaries for building monitoring. The work presented in this paper extends the work from i-Light project towards a smart guiding system for buildings. The system is based on the use of smart luminaries and drones. One of the main targets of such a system is medical care units. Use case scenarios include: give audio indications to potential users (patients, visitors, etc.), carrying relevant supplies to the desired location, etc. This paper will discuss the components of the system localization techniques applied within a building.
