Mitchell,Glenn Eldredge,Terri Scholl,Rose Mary Miller,Satish Bhatnagar,Nils Adey,Todd Rubano,Nadeem Tusneem,Rosann Robinson,Jane Feldhaus,Teresita Macalma,Arnold R. Oliphant,Steven P. Briggs +54 more
TL;DR: A draft sequence of the rice genome for the most widely cultivated subspecies in China, Oryza sativa L. ssp.indica, by whole-genome shotgun sequencing is produced, with a large proportion of rice genes with no recognizable homologs due to a gradient in the GC content of rice coding sequences.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: Using logistic regression analysis, this work provides a method for evaluating the probability of a woman's carrying a deleterious BRCA1 mutation for a wide range of cases, which can be an important tool for clinicians as they incorporate genetic susceptibility testing into their medical practice.

Threonine phosphorylation of the MMAC1/PTEN PDZ binding domain both inhibits and stimulates PDZ binding
Nils Adey,Liwen Huang,Patricia A. Ormonde,Michelle Baumgard,Ralph Pero,Deepthi V. Byreddy,Sean V. Tavtigian,Paul L. Bartel +7 more
TL;DR: Threonine phosphorylation of the MMAC1/ PTEN-PDZBD peptide inhibited both microtiter plate binding to the hDLG and hMAST205 PDZ domains and coprecipitation of the Mr 140,000 and > 200,000 proteins, but promoted coprecIPitation of proteins of approximately Mr 90, thousands and Mr 120,000 from A431 cell lysate.
Journal ArticleDOI
Polyphosphoinositides Inhibit the Interaction of Vinculin with Actin Filaments
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that activation of the actin-binding activity of vinculin requires steps other than or in addition to the binding of PI4,5P2, and that phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate inhibits the interaction of purified tail domain with F-actin.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of cyclized calmodulin antagonists from a phage display random peptide library
TL;DR: This study has demonstrated that conformationally constrained peptides isolated from a phage library acted as specific, Ca2+-dependent CaM ligands.
