Effect of excess superthermal hot electrons on finite amplitude ion-acoustic solitons and supersolitons in a magnetized auroral plasma

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of excess superthermal electrons on finite amplitude nonlinear ion-acoustic waves in a magnetized auroral plasma was investigated, and the model predicts the evolution of negative potential solitons and supersolitons at subsonic Mach numbers region, whereas, in the case of Cairn's nonthermal distribution model for the hot electron species studied earlier, they can exist both in the sub-sonic and supersonic Mach number regimes.

Obliquely propagating ion-acoustic solitons and supersolitons in four-component auroral plasmas

TL;DR: In this article, the anomalous amplitude nonlinear low frequency electrostatic soliton and supersoliton structures were studied in magnetized four-component auroral plasmas composed of a cold singly charged oxygen-ion fluid, Boltzmann distribution of hot protons and two distinct group of electron species.
