The invention discloses a multifunctional electric power instrument support. The multifunctional electric power instrument support comprises a support base. A set of rotary studs are arranged on the support base. A motor is arranged in the middle of the support base. The motor is matched with a driving gear. The driving gear is engaged with driven gears arranged on the rotary studs. The rotary studs are connected with thread bushings in a threaded mode. The thread bushings are connected with an instrument frame. The instrument frame is hinged to an instrument mounting frame. A multi-stage oil cylinder is arranged at one end of the instrument frame. A sliding base is arranged on one side of the instrument frame. A lifting gear and a positioning button are arranged on one side of the sliding base. The sliding base is in sliding fit with a fan lifting rod. A set of fans are arranged on the upper portion of the fan lifting rod. According to the multifunctional electric power instrument support, the height can be adjusted, the gradient of the base can be fine adjusted, and the support can be placed stably and reliably; meanwhile, the inclination angle of the instrument can be adjusted, the instrument can be mounted in various ways, and the support can be suitable for instruments of various types; and the support has a heat dissipation function and can cool an electric power instrument.

Multifunctional electric power instrument support

Thermal sensation and heat stress were evaluated in a plastic greenhouse, with and without evaporative cooling, under arid climatic conditions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Suitable thermal comfort and heat stress scales were selected for the evaluation. Experiments were conducted in hot sunny days to measure the required parameters (i.e., the dry and wet bulb temperatures, globe temperature, natural wet bulb temperature, and solar radiation flux) in the greenhouse. The results showed that in the uncooled greenhouse, workers are exposed to strong heat stress and would feel very hot most of the day time; they are safe from heat stress risk and would feel comfortable during night. An efficient evaporative cooling is necessary during the day to reduce heat stress and to improve the comfort conditions and is not necessary at night. In the cooled greenhouse, workers can do any activity: except at around noon they should follow a proposed working schedule, in which the different types of work were scheduled along the daytimes based on the heat stress value. To avoid heat stress and to provide comfort conditions in the greenhouses, the optimum ranges of relative humidity and air temperature are 48–55% and 24–28°C, respectively.

Effect of the Evaporative Cooling on the Human Thermal Comfort and Heat Stress in a Greenhouse under Arid Conditions

The invention discloses a multifunctional power instrument support which comprises a device base. A group of rotary double-screw bolts is arranged on the device base; a motor is arranged in the centerof the device base and is matched with a driving gear; the driving gear meshes with driven gears arranged on the rotary double-screw bolts; the rotary double-screw bolts are in screw joint with thread bushes; the thread bushes are connected with the instrument frame; the instrument frame is hinged with an instrument installation frame; a multi-stage oil cylinder is arranged at one end of the instrument installation frame; a sliding base is arranged on one side of the instrument frame; a lifting gear and a positioning button are arranged on one side of the sliding base; the sliding base is insliding fit to a lifting fan rod; and a group of fans is arranged on the upper part of the lifting fan rod. The multifunctional power instrument support can be used for adjusting the height and fine-adjusting the inclination of the base, is stable and reliable in placement, can be used for adjusting an inclination angle of an instrument at the same time, is diverse in installation modes of the instrument and applicable to various instruments, and has a heat-radiating function so as to cool the power instrument.

Multifunctional power instrument support

We report here on the development of a system for producing cruciferous vegetables without using chemical pesticides. This system enables small-scale farmers in hilly and mountainous areas in the western region of Japan to grow products of equivalent volume and quality to those produced by standard practices. The first steps in developing the system involved modifying and creating methods to protect cruciferous vegetables against insect pests. Crops were protected from flying pests, such as the white cabbage butterfly, cabbage armyworm, diamondback moth, cabbage sawfly, leafminer fly, cabbage bug, striped flea beetle, and brassica leaf beetle using a 0.6 mm mesh screen. Bacillus thuringiensis preparations, the use of which is permitted by Japanese Agricultural Standards for organic plants and organic processed foods of plant origin, were used to prevent damage caused by butterfly larvae, (white cabbage butterfly, cabbage armyworm, and diamondback moth) that hatch from eggs deposited on the outer surface of the screen through which they can invade. Invasion by crawling pests, such as the striped flea and brassica leaf beetles, was suppressed by covering the ground around the greenhouse with a mulching sheet to control weeds that form the habitat for these pests. Aphids passing through the 0.6 mm mesh screen were eliminated by a banker plant system employing the aphid parasite Diaeretiella rapae (McIntosh), a natural predator. Solarizing the soil before cultivation destroyed the pests' larvae, pupae, or eggs residing underground, such as those of the striped flea beetle and cutworm, while pest damage by vegetable weevils was prevented by inserting our newly invented traps just underground. The second step in developing the system involved dealing with higher greenhouse temperatures during summer that would result from the 0.6 mm mesh screen cover. To keep the wet bulb globe temperature (WBGT) around the worker within acceptable limits, a battery-powered ventilator consisting of a cart, fan, solar battery, and ordinary battery was used as well as installing simple roof windows, all of which effectively lowered the WBGTs. By combining these methods, we were able to demonstrate that the system was highly effective for producing quality cruciferous vegetables in greenhouses and in open fields.

Development and Implementation of an Environmentally Conscious System for Producing Cruciferous Vegetables by Small Farms in a Hilly and Mountainous Area of Western Japan

Physical control using insect screens is expected as an alternative method to chemical control. However, insect screens with finer mesh sizes to exclude minute pests have the problem of achieving both a control effect and ventilation. We evaluated the suppressive effect of a red insect screen on a Thrips tabaci Lindeman (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) population on cabbage in 2011. The number of T. tabaci on cabbage covered with a red insect screen was significantly lower than that with a white insect screen with the same mesh size. Further investigations in 2017 and 2018 revealed that the control effect of the red insect screen was not different between 0.6- and 0.8-mm mesh sizes, and better than that of the white insect screen with a 0.4-mm mesh size. According to catching test with sticky traps, camouflage for cabbage by red insect screen is considered as possible mechanisms for the control effect. These characteristics should make it possible to achieve both ventilation and an effect to control T. tabaci on cabbage. Furthermore, early growth of cabbage seedlings was not different between covering red and white insect screen with 0.8-mm mesh size. From these results, we discuss the beneficial effects of red insect screens.

Effect of covering with red insect screen to control Thrips tabaci (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) on cabbage

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-site mobile working carriage equipped with a blower constituted so as to directly blow air mainly toward a worker by installing the blower in the mobile working carriage for traveling and moving in the interior of the facility and carrying out operation. SOLUTION: The mobile working carriage 1 travels and moves in the interior of facilities such as greenhouse and vinyl house. In the mobile working carriage 1, the blower 11 which operates by using a battery 13 as an electric source is installed so that vertical height and horizontal angle and longitudinal angle of the blower 11 are each adjustable and air is blown mainly toward the worker, and preferably further, a solar panel 16 is installed so that the light-receiving direction and light-receiving angle are adjustable and electric power generated by the solar panel 16 is charged to the battery 13. The worker can comfortably be operated even in facilities in high-temperature/humid/calm state.
