This study aims to delineate the clinical and socio-demographic profile of the clients assisted by a school-clinic of Psychology of a private university in southern Brazil. We assessed the clinical records of 604 patients under individual psychological interventions between 2003 and 2007. The results showed that: a) the majority of patients were women, but among children the majority were of masculine gender; b) the main complaints were of depressive symptoms, but variations were also verified in accordance with age and gender; c) most of the patients had sought psychological care spontaneously; d) dropouts levels were similar to those of other studies in this context; e) no significant associations were found among dropout and age, gender and waiting time. The study revealed that the clinical and socio-demographic profile of clientele seen in this service is consistent with other training clinics in Rio Grande do Sul and in other states of Brazil. The results indicate the overall effectiveness of the service and of the adopted model of brief psychotherapy. Inconsistencies in patient’s records have been responsible for the methodological limitations of the study. The research enabled the adoption of several procedures to improve the quality of records and to support further studies.

Características clínicas e sociodemográficas da clientela atendida em uma clínica-escola de psicologia

This research aimed to investigate the validity evidences of an electronic version of an attitude scale towards statistics. A total of 35 psychology students taking Statistics classes during the first half of 2010 at a private university of Sao Paulo state participated in this study. All students studied in the night period, 82.9% were female, aged 17 to 56 (M=23,0;SD=9,3). The students answered the attitude scale SASPortuguesthat consisted of 33 Likert items with five points, in both electronic and pencil-paper versions. The students were distributed randomly in two groups; the first answered the pencil-paper version followed by the electronic version, and the other answered in the inverted order. The results indicated a significant positive linear correlation between the two scale versions confirming the electronic version's validity evidences. The pencil-paper version scale had already presented validity evidences confirmed in previous studies.

Evidências de validade da Escala Informatizada de Atitudes frente à Estatística - eSASPortuguês: um estudo correlacional

Considerando os avancos tecnologicos e as facilidades proporcionadas pelos seus recursos, o presente artigo tem o objetivo de avaliar a aplicacao do instrumento informatizado Escala de Estilos de Aprendizagem em Situacoes de Uso de Tecnologias, de modo a testar seu funcionamento e a viabilidade de seu uso em contexto escolar. Apos apresentar o embasamento teorico e as caracteristicas Escala de Estilos de Aprendizagem em Situacoes de Uso de Tecnologias, bem como e o suporte tecnologico utilizado, o instrumento foi aplicado a 120 estudantes universitarios provenientes do curso de administracao, sendo 63 do sexo feminino e 57 do sexo masculino, com idades entre 18 e 35. Os resultados foram favoraveis tanto quanto ao funcionamento do modelo informatizado do instrumento, quanto a sua aplicacao em contexto educacional, indicando a possibilidade de insercao das tecnologias no processo ensino-aprendizagem, contribuindo para avancos na area de avaliacao psicologica e seu impacto na pratica profissional e educacional.
