Abstract: Sport is a necessary element for maintaining life in a healthier and more balanced way. There has been a rising trend of wearing sportswear in daily life besides sports. Developments in technology have raised expectations from sportswear. Individuals expect not only durability, design and being fashionable, but also demand performance and clothing comfort. This study aims to investigate university students’ awareness while buying sportswear. Professional sportsmen from Physical Education and Sports School students and Textile Engineering students having technical knowledge about clothes are included in this study. 100 students from each group were interviewed face to face. Results showed that Textile Engineering students pay more attention to technical characteristics due to their knowledge, however, aesthetic properties are revealed to be another important factor affecting buying decision. Buying decision of Physical Education and Sports School students is expected to be positively affected if they are given a seminar about raw material properties.

Abstract: Abstract In recent years, with the increase in global awareness of environmental problems, the term “sustainability” became more important for apparel manufacturers and consumers. Therefore, recycling of wastes plays a significant role in environmental sustainability by converting the wastes into raw materials. This study focused on recycled cotton-included fabrics, to evaluate the effect of these fabrics on thermal comfort properties. In this context, first, the 45% recycled cotton/55% polyester blended yarns and 50% virgin cotton/50% blended yarns were obtained. Afterwards, single jersey and rib-structured fabrics were knitted using these yarns. The thermal comfort tests were performed on the fabrics and four long sleeve rounded neck shirts then were manufactured using these fabrics to test by the thermal manikin method. Results showed that the yarns including recycled cotton led to a decrease in the values in air permeability of the fabrics and in the effective clothing insulation of the garments. In contrast, it was observed that, including recycled cotton increased the thermal resistance values of the fabrics.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the perceived thermal comfort experienced by active Muslim women (AMW) wearing hijabs determined by their experience of comfort sensation while doing sports activities or regular exercises. This study also examines whether the casual hijabs which are widely used among AMW are able to supply the appropriate comfort for active purposes.,This study used the quantitative method using survey questionnaires to collect 100 primary data obtained from AMW respondents who are university students located around the Klang Valley region in Malaysia.,Based on the overall results, this study suggests that the common hijabs that are used for casual applications do not offer sufficient comfort to Muslim women while performing sports activities or regular exercises.,The outcome of this study will help to gain a better understanding on hijab preferences and comfort experienced from the viewpoint of regular hijab users. The information will assist industries to consider the selection of the right materials when developing sportswear hijabs to provide better comfort for more AMW in the near future. The method used in this study is useful to gain information on consumer’s profile and value-added details about the discomfort aspects of hijab which are scarce in the existing literature on thermal comfort.,This study was conducted to explore the type of hijabs commonly worn by AMW while performing sports activities and to obtain their views on the perceived thermal comfort.

Abstract: هدف البحث إلى استحداث تصاميم لرياضة ركوب الخيل والتعرف على واقع الملابس الرياضة بالمملكة العربية السعودية، وتكمن مشكلة البحث في العمل على تحقيق رؤية المملكة 2030 الداعم لممارسة الرياضة بإيجاد حلول تصميمية لأزياء رياضية تناسب السيدات، وتتوفر فيها خواص الراحة وتتماشى مع قيم وثقافة المملكة العربية السعودية لعكس الهوية، محققة الجانب الوظيفي والجمالي. واتبع البحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي في الإطار النظري والمسحي والمنهج شبه التجريبي في ابتكار 12 تصميما؛ تشمل الجاكيت والقميص والبنطلون والمكمل لملابس رياضة ركوب الخيل للسيدات، وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أن أكثر أنواع رياضات ركوب الخيل ممارسة بالسعودية هي قفز الحواجز، وان عادات الشراء للممارسين كانت بالشراء أكثر من مره في السنة للقميص والبنطلون، والتي كان من ماركات متنوعة بناء على جودة الأقمشة، وأما الخامة المفضلة فكانت المخلوطة من القطن والاسبندكس. وكان للممارسين لهذه الرياضة عدد من التفضيلات والتطلعات في تصميم ملابس هذه الرياضة منها تعدد أكبر للألوان مع تفضيل الألوان الفاتحة للقميص والقاتمة للبنطلون، والحاجة لتوفير تصاميم مبتكرة تتميز بالجاذبية وتعكس الهوية الوطنية وتلائم المتطلبات الوظيفية، كما أن اتجاه آراء المتخصصين والفارسات لاستحداث تصاميم مبتكرة لملابس الفروسية للسيدات تعزز الهوية الوطنية وتحافظ على مواصفات الزي الرياضي له دلالة إحصائية لصالح التصاميم المستحدثة بالبحث وخلص البحث إلى مجموعة من التوصيات من أبرزها عمل المزيد من الدراسات لمعرفة المشكلات المتعلقة بالخطوط التصميمة لأزياء السيدات لمختلف الرياضات، وتوفير تصاميم متنوعة للملابس الرياضية للسيدات تتناسب مع احتياجهن.
