Structure Based Library Design (SBLD) for new 1,4-dihydropyrimidine scaffold as simultaneous COX-1/COX-2 and 5-LOX inhibitors
TL;DR: The structure-based library design approach, including the focused library design and virtual screening was used to select the 1,4-dihydropyrimidine scaffold for simultaneous inhibition of both enzyme pathways ( COX-1/COX-2 and 5-LOX) and the entire library of approximately 15,629 compounds obtained after screening for drug like properties was enumerated.
Journal Article
Glutathione-S-transferase, superoxide dismutase, xanthine oxidase, catalase, glutathione peroxidase and lipid peroxidation in the liver of exercised rats.
TL;DR: The relative increase in MDA is considered as the indicator of the rate of lipid peroxidation in the wake of exhaustive exercise as well as giving a scope for the involvement of GPxII associated with GST in the reduction of organic hydroperoxides.
Journal ArticleDOI
Homology modeling of 5-lipoxygenase and hints for better inhibitor design.
TL;DR: The homology modeling technique has been used to construct the structure of potato 5-LOX and the results correlated well with the experimental data reported, which proved the quality of the model.
Journal ArticleDOI
A lipid-modified estrogen derivative that treats breast cancer independent of estrogen receptor expression through simultaneous induction of autophagy and apoptosis.
Sutapa Sinha,S. Roy,Bathula Surendar Reddy,Bathula Surendar Reddy,Krishnendu Pal,G. Sudhakar,Seethalakshmi R. Iyer,Shamit K. Dutta,Enfeng Wang,Pawan K. Vohra,Karnati R. Roy,Pallu Reddanna,Debabrata Mukhopadhyay,Rajkumar Banerjee,Rajkumar Banerjee +14 more
TL;DR: The development of a first cationic lipid-conjugated estrogenic derivative (ESC8) that kills breast cancer cells independent of their ER expression status is reported, which is the first example of an estrogen structure–based molecule that coinduces apoptosis and autophagy in Breast cancer cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
I. Specificity of the glutathione S-transferases in the conversion of leukotriene A4 to leukotriene C4
TL;DR: Interestingly, all three different LTA4 methyl esters gave comparable specific activities with a given GST isozyme indicating that regiospecificity of GSTs was not the factor in determining their ability to catalyze this reaction.
