Journal ArticleDOI

Triad of TDP43 control in neurodegeneration: autoregulation, localization and aggregation.

TL;DR: Tziortzouda, Van Den Bosch and Hirth as discussed by the authors described three intrinsic mechanisms that control TARDBP levels and localization and are altered to drive pathology, including autoregulation, nucleocytoplasmic transport and phase transition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exploring the alternative: Fish, flies and worms as preclinical models for ALS.

TL;DR: A recent mini-review as mentioned in this paper provides an overview of alternative small animal studies, modeling the most common ALS genes and discuss the most recent preclinical discoveries, concluding that small animal models will not replace rodent models, yet they clearly represent an important asset for preclinical studies.
