Nanaerobic growth enables direct visualization of dynamic cellular processes in human gut symbionts
Leonor García-Bayona,Michael J. Coyne,Noam Hantman,Paula Montero-Llopis,Salena Von,Takeshi Ito,Michael H. Malamy,Marek Basler,Blanca Barquera,Laurie E. Comstock +9 more
TL;DR: It is shown that Bacteroides species are metabolically and energetically robust and do not mount stress responses in the presence of 0.10 to 0.14% oxygen, and that GFP-tagged proteins can be localized in nanaerobically growing bacteria.
Posted ContentDOI
Micro-Meta App: an interactive software tool to facilitate the collection of microscopy metadata based on community-driven specifications [preprint]
Alex Rigano,Shannon Ehmsen,Serkan Utku Öztürk,Joel Ryan,Alexander Balashov,Mathias Hammer,Koray Kirli,Karl A. Bellvé,Ulrike Boehm,Claire M. Brown,James J. Chambers,Robert A. Coleman,Andrea Cosolo,Orestis Faklaris,Kevin E. Fogarty,Thomas Guilbert,Anna B Hamacher,Michelle S. Itano,Daniel P. Keeley,Kunis S,Judith Lacoste,Alex Laude,Willa Y. TL;DR: Micro-Meta App as mentioned in this paper is an open-source software designed to facilitate the extraction and collection of relevant microscopy metadata, which can be used for documenting imaging experiments and shared with the community.
Posted ContentDOI
MethodsJ2: A Software Tool to Improve Microscopy Methods Reporting
Joel Ryan,Thomas Pengo,Alex Rigano,Paula Montero-Llopis,Michelle S. Itano,Lisa A. Cameron,Guillermo Marqués,Caterina Strambio-De-Castillia,Mark A. Sanders,Claire M. Brown +9 more
TL;DR: MethodsJ2 as discussed by the authors is an ImageJ/Fiji based software tool that gathers metadata and automatically generates text for the methods section of publications to reproduce microscopy experiments, interpret results and share images.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protocol to isolate live single cells while retaining spatial information by combining cell photolabeling and FACS
Pilar Baldominos,O. Barreiro,Ulrich H. von Andrian,Rafael Sirera,Paula Montero-Llopis,Judith Agudo +5 more
TL;DR: Baldominos et al. as mentioned in this paper used photoconversion of areas to dissect micro-environments (PADME) to isolate live single cells from a primary breast tumor while retaining spatial information.
Posted ContentDOI
Nanaerobic growth enables direct visualization of dynamic cellular processes in human gut symbionts
Leonor García-Bayona,Michael J. Coyne,Noam Hantman,Paula Montero-Llopis,Salena Von,Takeshi Ito,Michael H. Malamy,Marek Basler,Blanca Barquera,Blanca Barquera,Laurie E. Comstock +10 more
TL;DR: The ability of anaerobes of the gut microbiota to respire aerobically and grow robustly at 0.10– 0.14% oxygen is taken advantage, allowing for visualization of biological processes never before imaged in these bacteria.
