Journal ArticleDOI

Kinetics of methane hydrate formation in an aqueous solution of thermodynamic promoters (THF and TBAB) with and without kinetic promoter (SDS)

TL;DR: In this article, experiments were conducted at an initial pressure conditions of 75 MPa and 27615 K for pure water, SDS, TBAB, (Tetra-n-butyl ammonium bromide, tetrahydrofuran, THF) and kinetic promoters (sodium dodecyl sulphate SDS) for methane hydrate system suitable for natural gas storage and transportation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of aromatic/aliphatic based ionic liquids on the phase behavior of methane hydrates: Experiments and modeling

TL;DR: In this article, eight ionic liquids from the two varieties of ILs namely, aromatic and aliphatic ILs, have been considered to carry out experimental studies for their effect on the phase behavior of methane hydrate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Formation and dissociation kinetics of methane hydrate in aqueous oilfield polymer solutions (Polyacrylamide, Xanthan Gum, and Guar Gum) and their performance evaluation as Low-Dosage Kinetic Hydrate Inhibitors (LDHI)

TL;DR: In this article, the use of low-dosage hydrate inhibitor (LDHI) is discussed for offshore oil and gas well formation and deposition during drilling offshore oil/gas wells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Natural Gas Production from a Marine Clayey Hydrate Reservoir Formed in Seawater Using Depressurization at Constant Pressure, Depressurization by Constant Rate Gas Release, Thermal Stimulation, and Their Implications for Real Field Applications

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the performance of the constant rate gas release (CRD) and constant pressure depressurization (CPD) methods for marine clayey hydrate reservoirs formed in seawater.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phase Equilibrium of Methane Hydrate in the Presence of Aqueous Solutions of Quaternary Ammonium Salts

TL;DR: In this paper, an attempt has been made to understand the effect of quaternary ammonium salts with increasing alkyl chain length, such as tetra-methyl, tetraethyl, and tetrabutyl ammonium bromide (TMAB, TEAB, and TBAB) at two different concentrations (0.05 and 0.1 mass fraction) in an aqueous solution on the hydrate-liquid-vapor (H-L-V) phase equilibrium of the methane hydrate system.
