Journal Article
Basal and postprandial plasma levels of PYY, ghrelin, cholecystokinin, gastrin and insulin in women with moderate and morbid obesity and metabolic syndrome.
Krystyna Zwirska-Korczala,S J Konturek,M Sodowski,Mariusz Wylezol,Kuka D,Paweł Sowa,Monika Adamczyk-Sowa,Michał Kukla,Agnieszka Berdowska,J F Rehfeld,Władysław Bielański,T. Brzozowski +11 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that MS features of obesity are closely related to fasting and postprandial alterations of concentrations of PYY(3-36), CCK and ghrelin, suggesting that determination of gut hormones controlling food intake might be considered as a valuable tool to assess the progression of MS to comorbidities of obesity.
Journal Article
Role of leptin, ghrelin, angiotensin II and orexins in 3T3 L1 preadipocyte cells proliferation and oxidative metabolism.
Krystyna Zwirska-Korczala,Monika Adamczyk-Sowa,Paweł Sowa,K Pilc,R Suchanek,Krystyna Pierzchała,Grzegorz Namysłowski,Maciej Misiołek,K Sodowski,Ikuo Kato,Atsukazu Kuwahara,Romuald Zabielski +11 more
TL;DR: Orexin A was found to be the most efficient proliferative-signalling hormone, while orexin B revealed the most significant inhibitory effect on preadipocytes proliferation.
Journal Article
Effect of extremely low frequency of electromagnetic fields on cell proliferation, antioxidative enzyme activities and lipid peroxidation in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes--an in vitro study.
Krystyna Zwirska-Korczala,Jerzy Jochem,Monika Adamczyk-Sowa,Paweł Sowa,Renata Polaniak,E. Birkner,M. Latocha,K Pilc,R Suchanek +8 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that ELF-MF influences antioxidative enzyme activities and increases lipid peroxidation in 3T3-L1 preadipocyte cultures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Artificial neural network-based dynamic equivalents for distribution systems containing active sources
TL;DR: In this article, an approach to identify generic dynamic equivalents to distribution systems using recurrent artificial neural networks (ANN)s is presented, which depends on variables at the boundary buses, hence no knowledge of the parameters and the topology of the distribution system is needed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Melatonin acts as antioxidant and improves sleep in MS patients.
Monika Adamczyk-Sowa,Krystyna Pierzchała,Paweł Sowa,Sebastian Mucha,Izabela Sadowska-Bartosz,Jowita Adamczyk,Marcin Hartel +6 more
TL;DR: Findings from this study suggest that melatonin can act as an antioxidant and improves reduced sleep quality in MS patients.
