TL;DR: A marine glacial record from the upper 600 m of the AND-1B sediment core recovered from beneath the northwest part of the Ross ice shelf is presented and well-dated, ∼40-kyr cyclic variations in ice-sheet extent linked to cycles in insolation influenced by changes in the Earth’s axial tilt (obliquity) during the Pliocene are demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
The shape of rock particles, a critical review
TL;DR: In this paper, the shape of a rock particle can be expressed in terms of three independent properties: form (overall shape), roundness (large-scale smoothness), and surface texture.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: A review of the state of the Antarctic and Southern Ocean climate, and its relation to the global climate system over the last few millennia can be found in this paper, where a network of recently available shallow firn cores, and to that of the past 50 years, which was monitored by the continuous instrumental record.
