Journal ArticleDOI

Probabilistic sensitivity analysis using Monte Carlo simulation. A practical approach.

TL;DR: This paper describes a practical method for probabilistic sensitivity analysis, in which uncertainties in all values are considered simultaneously, and a parametric model that permits each distribution to be specified by two values: the baseline estimate and a bound of the 95 percent confidence interval.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long-term assessment of a multidisciplinary approach to thyroid nodule diagnostic evaluation

TL;DR: The diagnostic evaluation of patients with thyroid nodules is imprecise, and recent technologic and procedural advances suggest that this shortcoming can be mitigated, although few data confirm this benefit in unselected patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prevalence and Distribution of Carcinoma in Patients with Solitary and Multiple Thyroid Nodules on Sonography

TL;DR: In a patient with one or more thyroid nodules larger than 10 mm in diameter, the likelihood of thyroid cancer per patient is independent of the number of nodules, whereas the likelihood per nodule decreases as the numberof nodules increases.
