The International Transmission of Bank Liquidity Shocks: Evidence from an Emerging Market
TL;DR: In this paper, the 1998 Russian default was exploited as a negative liquidity shock to international banks and analyzed its transmission to Peru, finding that after the Russian default international banks reduced bank-to-bank lending to Peruvian banks and Peruvian businesses reduced lending to international firms.
