Devonian lithostratigraphic units (Belgium)
Pierre Bultynck,Léon Dejonghe +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe seventy Devonian formations from the Dinant and Namur Synclinoria, the Vesdre Nappe and the Theux Window that were revised or introduced during the previous two decades.
Journal ArticleDOI
False teeth: conodont-vertebrate phylogenetic relationships revisited
Susan Turner,Carole J. Burrow,Hans-Peter Schultze,Alain Blieck,Wolf-Ernst Reif,Carl B. Rexroad,Pierre Bultynck,Godfrey S. Nowlan +7 more
TL;DR: An evidence-based reassessment of the phylogenetic relationships of conodonts shows that they are not “stem” gnathostomes, nor vertebrates, and not even craniates, which supports neither a vertebrate nor a craniate relationship for conodons.
Les formations du Dévonien moyen de la Belgique
Pierre Bultynck,Marie Coen-Aubert,Léon Dejonghe,J. Godefroid,Luc Hance,D. Lacroix,Alain Préat,P. Stainier,Philippe Steemans,Maurice Streel,F. Tourneur +10 more
Journal ArticleDOI
A climate-driven model and development of a floating point time scale for the entire Middle Devonian Givetian Stage: A test using magnetostratigraphy susceptibility as a climate proxy
Brooks B. Ellwood,Jonathan H. Tomkin,Ahmed El Hassani,Pierre Bultynck,Carlton E. Brett,Eberhard Schindler,Raimund Feist,Alexander J. Bartholomew +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed an approach to establish a preliminary age chronology for complete stages within the Phanerozoic by applying cyclostratigraphic methods that employ high-resolution data sets.
