Journal ArticleDOI

The worldwide leaf economics spectrum

TL;DR: Reliable quantification of the leaf economics spectrum and its interaction with climate will prove valuable for modelling nutrient fluxes and vegetation boundaries under changing land-use and climate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Plant phenotypic plasticity in a changing climate

TL;DR: A toolbox with definitions of key theoretical elements and a synthesis of the current understanding of the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying plasticity relevant to climate change is provided to provide clear directives for future research and stimulate cross-disciplinary dialogue on the relevance of phenotypic plasticity under climate change.
Journal ArticleDOI

Global variability in leaf respiration in relation to climate, plant functional types and leaf traits

Owen K. Atkin, +78 more
- 01 Apr 2015 -
TL;DR: A new global database of Rdark and associated leaf traits is analyzed and values at any given Vcmax or leaf nitrogen concentration were higher in herbs than in woody plants, and variation in Rdark among species and across global gradients in T and aridity is highlighted.
