TL;DR: In this paper, a search for a light charged Higgs boson (H+) decaying to a W boson and a CP-odd Higgs Boson (A) in final states with eμμ or μμμ is performed using data from pp collisions at s=13 TeV, recorded by the CMS detector at the LHC and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9
Abstract: A search for a light charged Higgs boson (H+) decaying to a W boson and a CP-odd Higgs boson (A) in final states with eμμ or μμμ is performed using data from pp collisions at s=13 TeV, recorded by the CMS detector at the LHC and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb-1. In this search, it is assumed that the H+ boson is produced in decays of top quarks, and the A boson decays to two oppositely charged muons. The presence of signals for H+ boson masses between 100 and 160 GeV and A boson masses between 15 and 75 GeV is investigated. No evidence for the production of the H+ boson is found. Upper limits at 95% confidence level are obtained on the combined branching fraction for the decay chain, t→bH+→bW+A→bW+μ+μ-, of 1.9×10-6 to 8.6×10-6, depending on the masses of the H+ and A bosons. These are the first limits for these decay modes of the H+ and A bosons.

TL;DR: The search for CP violation in neutral charm meson decays using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 966 fb(-1) collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) asymmetric-energy collider shows results consistent with no CP violation.
Abstract: We search for CP violation in neutral charm meson decays using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 966 fb(-1) collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) asymmetric-energy collider. The asymmetry obtained in the rate of D-0 and (D) over bar (0) decays to the pi(0)pi(0) final state, [-0.03 +/- 0.64(stat) +/- 0.10(syst)]%, is consistent with no CP violation. This constitutes an order of magnitude improvement over the existing result. We also present an updated measurement of the CP asymmetry in the D-0 -> K-S(0)pi(0) decay: A(CP)(D-0 -> K-S(0)pi(0)) = [-0.21 +/- 0.16(stat) +/- 0.07(syst)]%.

TL;DR: In this paper, a search for lepton-flavor violating decays of the Higgs boson to μ τ and e τ was conducted at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13.TeV.
Abstract: A search is presented for lepton-flavor violating decays of the Higgs boson to μ τ and e τ . The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb - 1 collected at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. No significant excess has been found, and the results are interpreted in terms of upper limits on lepton-flavor violating branching fractions of the Higgs boson. The observed (expected) upper limits on the branching fractions are, respectively, B ( H → μ τ ) 0.15 ( 0.15 ) % and B ( H → e τ ) 0.22 ( 0.16 ) % at 95% confidence level.

TL;DR: In this paper, branching fraction measurements of charged and neutral B decays to D{pi{sup -}, D*{pi}{sup -} and D**{pi} with a missing mass method, based on a sample of 231 million {Upsilon}(4S) {yields} B{bar B} pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e{sup +}e{sup]-collider.
Abstract: We present branching fraction measurements of charged and neutral B decays to D{pi}{sup -}, D*{pi}{sup -} and D**{pi}{sup -} with a missing mass method, based on a sample of 231 million {Upsilon}(4S) {yields} B{bar B} pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e{sup +}e{sup -} collider. One of the B mesons is fully reconstructed and the other one decays to a reconstructed charged {pi} and a companion charmed meson identified by its recoil mass, inferred by kinematics. Here D** refers to the sum of all the non-strange charm meson states with masses in the range 2.2-2.8 GeV/c{sup 2}.

TL;DR: The lifetimes of the B(0) and B- mesons are extracted from 29.1 fb(-1) of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEK B factory, measuring the decay length differences of neutral and charged B meson pairs.
Abstract: The lifetimes of the B0bar and B- mesons are extracted from 29.1/fb of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEK B-factory. A fit to the decay length differences of neutral and charged B meson pairs, measured in events where one of the B mesons is fully reconstructed in several hadronic modes, yields tau_B0bar = 1.554 +/- 0.030(stat) +/- 0.019(syst) ps, tau_B- = 1.695 +/- 0.026(stat) +/- 0.015(syst) ps, and tau_B-/tau_B0bar = 1.091 +/- 0.023(stat) +/- 0.014(syst).

TL;DR: There is, I think, something ethereal about i —the square root of minus one, which seems an odd beast at that time—an intruder hovering on the edge of reality.
Abstract: There is, I think, something ethereal about i —the square root of minus one. I remember first hearing about it at school. It seemed an odd beast at that time—an intruder hovering on the edge of reality. Usually familiarity dulls this sense of the bizarre, but in the case of i it was the reverse: over the years the sense of its surreal nature intensified. It seemed that it was impossible to write mathematics that described the real world in …

TL;DR: In this paper, a sedimentological core and petrographic characterisation of samples from eleven boreholes from the Lower Carboniferous of Bowland Basin (Northwest England) is presented.
Abstract: Deposits of clastic carbonate-dominated (calciclastic) sedimentary slope systems in the rock record have been identified mostly as linearly-consistent carbonate apron deposits, even though most ancient clastic carbonate slope deposits fit the submarine fan systems better. Calciclastic submarine fans are consequently rarely described and are poorly understood. Subsequently, very little is known especially in mud-dominated calciclastic submarine fan systems. Presented in this study are a sedimentological core and petrographic characterisation of samples from eleven boreholes from the Lower Carboniferous of Bowland Basin (Northwest England) that reveals a >250 m thick calciturbidite complex deposited in a calciclastic submarine fan setting. Seven facies are recognised from core and thin section characterisation and are grouped into three carbonate turbidite sequences. They include: 1) Calciturbidites, comprising mostly of highto low-density, wavy-laminated bioclast-rich facies; 2) low-density densite mudstones which are characterised by planar laminated and unlaminated muddominated facies; and 3) Calcidebrites which are muddy or hyper-concentrated debrisflow deposits occurring as poorly-sorted, chaotic, mud-supported floatstones.
