Radio Propagation into Modern Buildings: Attenuation Measurements in the Range from 800 MHz to 18 GHz

TL;DR: A measurement-based analysis of the outdoor-to-indoor attenuation experienced in several modern constructions compared to an old building shows a material dependent and a frequency dependent attenuation, with an average increase of 20-25 dB in modern construction compared to the old construction.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Resource allocation considerations for multi-carrier LTE-Advanced systems operating in backward compatible mode

TL;DR: This paper proposes a simple cross CC packet scheduling algorithm that improves the resource allocation fairness among the two categories of users and is shown to be effective in providing better coverage performance with no loss of the overall cell throughput.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Polarization diversity in MIMO radio channels: experimental validation of a stochastic model and performance assessment

TL;DR: A stochastic MIMO radio channel considering (i) polarization diversity and (ii) unbalanced branch power ratio is being validated by comparing Monte-Carlo simulations and experimental results using the eigenanalysis as benchmark.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Frequency Domain Packet Scheduling Under Fractional Load for the UTRAN LTE Downlink

TL;DR: This paper investigates the performance of frequency domain packet scheduling under fractional load (FL), based on the UTRAN long term evolution downlink, and finds that FDPS under FL can provide an effective trade-off between cell throughput and coverage.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Interference Analysis for UAV Connectivity over LTE Using Aerial Radio Measurements

TL;DR: This paper uses empirical measurements in live rural LTE networks to assess the impact of uplink and downlink radio interference on the UAV radio connectivity performance, and provides a baseline analysis on the potential of interference mitigation schemes, needed to provide a reliable radio connectivity to the Uavs.
