TL;DR: Metaphyseal sleeve fixation to enhance component stability during revision TKA has a 5-year survivorship free of revision for aseptic loosening of 96% and 99.5% in femoral and tibial sleeves, respectively.
Abstract: Background Metaphyseal fixation has promising early results in providing component stability and fixation in revision total knee arthroplasty (TKA). However, there are limited studies on midterm results of metaphyseal sleeves. We analyzed complications, rerevisions, and survivorship free of revision for aseptic loosening of metaphyseal sleeves in revision TKA. Methods Two hundred eighty patients with 393 metaphyseal sleeves (144 femoral, 249 tibial) implanted during revision TKA from 2006-2014 were reviewed. Sleeves were most commonly cemented (55% femoral, 72% tibial). Mean follow-up was 3 years, mean age was 66 years, and mean body mass index was 34 kg/m 2 . Indications for revision TKA included 2-stage reimplantation for deep infection (37%), aseptic loosening of the tibia (14%), femur (12%), or both components (9%), and instability (14%). Results There was a 12% rate of perioperative complications, most commonly intraoperative fracture (6.5%). Eight sleeves (2.5%) required removal: 6 (2%) during component resection for deep infection (all were well-fixed at removal) as well as 1 (0.8%) femoral sleeve and 1 (0.8%) tibial sleeve for aseptic loosening. Five-year survivorship free of revision for aseptic loosening was 96% and 99.5% for femoral and tibial sleeves, respectively. Level of constraint, bone loss, sleeve and/or stem fixation, and revision indication did not significantly affect outcomes. Conclusion Metaphyseal sleeve fixation to enhance component stability during revision TKA has a 5-year survivorship free of revision for aseptic loosening of 96% and 99.5% in femoral and tibial sleeves, respectively. Both cemented and cementless sleeve fixation provides reliable durability at intermediate follow-up.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the direct and indirect effects of organizational culture, knowledge management and organizational learning on innovation and found that organizational learning played a significant role as a mediator in the relationship between organizational culture and organizational innovation.
Abstract: The main objective of this study was to examine the direct and indirect effects of organizational culture, knowledge management and organizational learning on innovation. The study combined knowledge-based view theory (KBV), competitive value framework to develop a new original theoretical framework for investigation of factors that affect innovation. Data was gathered from a survey of 279 companies supplying automobile parts to Iran Khodro Company, an Iranian leading automobile manufacturer. Study discovered that organizational culture and knowledge management influenced organizational innovation. Besides that, organizational learning played a significant role as a mediator in that relationship. However, knowledge management was not considered as a mediator in the relationship between organizational culture and organizational innovation. As a practical contribution, the findings of the study serve as a guideline for policy makers and managers in the formulation of policies and strategies for sustainable innovation. Knowing the effectiveness of the innovation can help the government to make decisions about the continuation of this policy. Moreover, study contributes to firm management in formulation of policies and strategies for sustainability in innovation context. Innovation assists organizations supplying the product or service in the automotive sector to operate innovatively, competitively and profitably.

TL;DR: In this article, the stock market reaction to toy recall announcements was assessed based on agency theory, signalling theory and prospect theory, and the authors developed an understanding of the factors that influence the direction and magnitude of the market reaction.
Abstract: The widely publicised product recalls of lead-paint tainted toys in 2007 caused serious concerns among consumers, investors and the government. The widespread practice of global outsourcing in toy industry further intensifies consumers and investors’ uncertainties about toy safety. This paper assesses the stock market reaction to recent toy recall announcements. Based upon the theoretical underpinnings from agency theory, signalling theory and prospect theory, it also develops an understanding of factors that influence the direction and magnitude of the stock market reaction. One hundred and forty-five toy recall announcements in 2000–2014 were analysed using event study and linear regression. The results show that the announcement of a toy recall was associated with a negative stock market reaction. The stock market reaction was more negative for toy product recall announcements by retailers or distributors, smaller source firms, toys with more severe hazards and source firms with higher growth potential...

TL;DR: In this article, the authors have discussed the literature review of quality of working life (QWL) and summarized different requisite components for QWL, industries observed and contributions of different researchers.
Abstract: In this mechanical life, workmen reach house after completion of their hectic job with highest stress. Human being cannot be compared with machines. They have their own impulses, instincts, emotions. Employer should design a job which suits the needs of workmen not the technology. By using Quality of Work Life (QWL) worker’s potential can be used to maximum extent. It ensures greater participation and involvement of workers, makes work easier and improves quality and efficiency. For our study purpose, only secondary data is used which is sourced from different journals and books. In discussing the Literature Review of Quality of Work Life, this paper has been divided into four parts. In the first part introduction of QWL, second part Review of Literature of QWL. In the third part Components of QWL, it summarizes different requisite components for QWL, industries observed and contributions of different researchers. It is observed that Researchers differ in their views on the core constituents of Quality of Working Life.

TL;DR: In this article, a study of more than 2,500 tradeshow exhibitors and attendees document a clear bifurcation in the reasons for attendance in these two groups, with exporters focused on business and contact development, whereas participants seek a unique experience and are motivated heavily by educational goals.
Abstract: Tradeshows and conventions continue to thrive in the twenty-first century, both for information exchanges and direct selling, but numerous forces have meant changes in show operation and in participants' selection criteria for attendance. A study of more than 2,500 tradeshow exhibitors and attendees document a clear bifurcation in the reasons for attendance in these two groups. Exhibitors are primarily focused on business and contact development, whereas participants seek a unique experience and are motivated heavily by educational goals. Successful tradeshows will need to satisfy both of these complementary sets of goals. The effects of social media and mobile technology on tradeshows are noticeable but still in flux, as many shows increasingly use virtual methods for information exchange and contact development. Environmental sustainability has become important to both exhibitors and attendees, and budgetary constraints continue to be an issue. Not only are there differences in relative preferences of exhibitors and attendees, but subgroups within each category also show different tradeshow criteria, based on age, frequency of tradeshow visits, career stage, and their technology readiness.
