Activation mechanism of lead ions in cassiterite flotation with salicylhydroxamic acid as collector
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of lead ions on cassiterite flotation with salicylhydroxamic acid as collector was assessed by a combination of microflotation tests, adsorption experiments, zeta-potential determinations, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surface modification of malachite with ethanediamine and its effect on sulfidization flotation
TL;DR: Ethanediamine was used to modify the mineral surface of malachite to improve its sulfidization and flotation behavior, and the activation mechanism was investigated by adsorption experiments, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis, and zeta potential measurements as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Combined DFT and XPS investigation of enhanced adsorption of sulfide species onto cerussite by surface modification with chloride
TL;DR: In this article, the surface modification with chloride promotes the stable adsorption of HS− onto the cerussite surface, and the hybridization of Pb 6p orbital at the surface layer and S 3p orbital from HS− is enhanced.
Journal ArticleDOI
DFT study of ethyl xanthate interaction with sphalerite (1 1 0) surface in the absence and presence of copper
TL;DR: In this paper, the interaction among sphalerite surface, copper and ethyl xanthate (EX) was simulated using the density functional theory (DFT), and the results of DFT indicate that four types of stable interaction models exist among EX and copper, i.e., EX interacts with the Cu substituted for Zn.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surface modification of smithsonite with ammonia to enhance the formation of sulfidization products and its response to flotation
TL;DR: In this article, a promising method of improving the sulfidization flotation of smithsonite through surface modification with ammonia was proposed, which increased the amount of sulfide ion species adsorbed onto the mineral surface, thereby facilitating the attachment of xanthate species onto the sulfified mineral surface and promoting its hydrophobicity.
