Negative heat capacity in the critical region of nuclear fragmentation: an experimental evidence of the liquid-gas phase transition
M. D'Agostino,Francesca Gulminelli,Ph. Chomaz,M. Bruno,F. Cannata,R. Bougault,F. Gramegna,I. Iori,N. Le Neindre,Giacomo Vito Margagliotti,A. Moroni,G. Vannini +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental indication of negative heat capacity in excited nuclear systems is inferred from the event by event study of energy fluctuations in Au quasi-projectile sources formed in Au+Au collisions at 35 A.MeV.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermodynamical features of multifragmentation in peripheral Au + Au Collisions at 35 A.MeV
M. D'Agostino,A. S. Botvina,M. Bruno,Aldo Bonasera,J.P. Bondorf,R. Bougault,P. Désesquelles,P. Désesquelles,E. Geraci,Francesca Gulminelli,I. Iori,N. Le Neindre,Giacomo Vito Margagliotti,I. N. Mishustin,A. Moroni,A. Pagano,G. Vannini +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the distribution of fragments produced in events involving the multifragmentation of excited sources is studied for peripheral Au + Au reactions at 35 A MeV and an isotropic emission in its rest frame has been observed, indicating that an equilibrated system has been formed.
Journal ArticleDOI
A hot expanding source in 50 A MeV Xe + Sn central reactions
N. Marie,Richard Laforest,R. Bougault,J.P. Wieleczko,D. Durand,Ch.O. Bacri,J.F. Lecolley,F. Saint-Laurent,G. Auger,J. Benlliure,E. Bisquer,Bernard Borderie,R. Brou,J.L. Charvet,A. Chbihi,J. Colin,D. Cussol,R. Dayras,E. De Filippo,A. Demeyer,D. Doré,P. Ecomard,Ph. Eudes,D. Gourio,D. Guinet,P. Lautesse,J.L. Laville,A. Le Fèvre,T. Lefort,R. Legrain,O. Lopez,M. Louvel,V. Métivier,L. Nalpas,A. TL;DR: In this paper, the INDRA multidetector was used to study multifragmentation processes in central collisions for the Xe + Sn reaction at 50 A MeV, and the fragment kinetic energy spectra indicated a fast disintegration of the system with a radial collective motion of about 2 A MEV.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surveying the nuclear caloric curve
Yu-Gang Ma,A. Siwek,Jean Péter,Francesca Gulminelli,R. Dayras,L. Nalpas,B. Tamain,E. Vient,G. Auger,Ch.O. Bacri,J. Benlliure,E. Bisquer,Bernard Borderie,R. Bougault,R. Brou,J.L. Charvet,A. Chbihi,J. Colin,D. Cussol,E. De Filippo,A. Demeyer,D. Doré,D. Durand,P. Ecomard,Ph. Eudes,E. Gerlic,D. Gourio,D. Guinet,Richard Laforest,P. Lautesse,J.L. Laville,L. Lebreton,J.F. Lecolley,A. Le Fèvre,T. Stern,L. Tassan-Got,C. Volant,J.P. Wieleczko +54 more
TL;DR: The 4π array INDRA was used to detect nearly all charged products emitted in Ar + Ni collisions between 52 and 95 MeV/u as mentioned in this paper, and the charge, mass and excitation energy E ∗ of the quasi-projectiles have been reconstructed event by event.
Journal ArticleDOI

Marchi,Ismael Martel,Luca Morelli,M. Parlog,H. Petrascu,Elio Rosato,V. Seredov,E. Vient,Mariano Vigilante,R. Alba,Domenico Santonocito,C. Maiolino +39 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the capabilities of two methods are compared: (a) the standard ΔE-E technique and (b) the digital Pulse Shape Analysis technique (for identification of nuclear fragments stopped in a single Si-layer).
