Coexistence of ferromagnetism and superconductivity in the hybrid ruthenate-cuprate compound RuSr 2 GdCu 2 O 8 studied by muon spin rotation and dc magnetization

TL;DR: In this article, the magnetic and superconducting properties of the hybrid ruthenate-cuprate compound (RuSr) were investigated by means of zero-field muon-spin rotation (ZF-\ensuremath{\mu}SR) and dc magnetization measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermodynamics of spin S = 1 / 2 antiferromagnetic uniform and alternating-exchange Heisenberg chains

TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic susceptibility and specific heat of the Heisenberg chain were studied for the entire range $0l~\ensuremath{\alpha}l~1$ of the alternation parameter of the alternating-exchange parameter.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantum helimagnetism of the frustrated spin-1/2 chain LiCuVO4

TL;DR: Inelastic neutron scattering, susceptibility, and high-field magnetization identify LiCuVO4 as a nearest-neighbour ferromagnetic, next-nearest-nighbour frustrated, quasi-one-dimensional helimagnet as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Specific heat measurements of Ba0.68 K0.32 Fe2 As2 single crystals: evidence for a multiband strong-coupling superconducting state

TL;DR: It is shown that an Eliashberg model with two hole and two electron bands gives the correct values of Tc, the superconducting gaps, and the free-energy difference.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evidence for a bulk Meissner state in the ferromagnetic superconductor RuSr 2 GdCu 2 O 8 from dc magnetization

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the ferromagnetic superconductor Ru-1212 exhibits a large diamagnetic signal at low temperature and low magnetic field corresponding to a bulk Meissner phase.
