TL;DR: This paper pertains to a detailed simulation study conducted on a typical Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS), where two types of FMSs have been evolved: one is failure free and the other is failure prone and simulation models have been developed using SLAMSYSTEM.
Abstract: This paper pertains to a detailed simulation study conducted on a typical Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS). Initially, the configurations of the FMS under study have been established. Two types of FMSs have been evolved: one is failure free and the other is failure prone. For each of these cases, simulation models have been developed using SLAMSYSTEM. Orders arriving randomly at the FMS are subjected to three levels of scheduling decisions namely, launching of parts into the system, routing of parts through machines and sequencing of parts on AGVs at a central buffer. The simulation results have been used to develop metamodels for the two types of FMSs. These metamodels have been subjected to statistical analysis to ascertain their adequacy to represent the simulation models. These metamodels have been found to be useful for simulating the FMSs under study so as to evaluate various multi-level scheduling decisions in the FMS.

TL;DR: The findings of this study reveal that relative advantage has the strongest relationship with the intention to use mobile banking.
Abstract: Mobile phone has become an integral part of our lives. The penetration rate of mobile phones in the developing countries has increased abruptly and this is a good sign for the banking sector. Mobile banking is the most recently launched innovative feat in the banking sector. The unique ability of mobile banking to perform banking transactions irrespective of place and time has given a competitive edge over traditional banking. Even though, all circumstances are in favour of mobile banking, it has failed to take off in most of the developing countries. Hence, the main objective of the study is to find out the constructs which affect the adoption of mobile banking in India. A model has been proposed with the factors namely perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, self-efficacy, perceived risk, perceived enjoyment, relative advantage, compatibility, trust, social influence and personal innovativeness. The proposed model has been tested using various statistical analyses and the findings of this study reveal that relative advantage has the strongest relationship with the intention to use mobile banking.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors identify the prominent factors that influence the public sector bank consumers in India to adopt internet banking services, such as perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived risk, relative advantage and trialability.
Abstract: The progressions in information technology have changed the operational aspects of the banking sector significantly. Internet banking has been found to be an alternative channel for the traditional banking as it saves time, money and effort. The objective of this study is to identify the prominent factors that influence the public sector bank consumers in India to adopt internet banking services. Factors such as perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived risk, relative advantage and trialability have been found to be the determinants of internet banking in the previous studies. Along with the above variables a new variable called conspicuousness has been analysed in the present study. This kind of study has not been conducted in the Indian context previously. A model has been proposed and tested using linear multiple regression analysis. The findings are of great use primarily for the banks which are planning to offer internet banking services, and for already existing banks to focus on the gaps.

TL;DR: This paper is the third comprehensive survey paper which provides an extensive review of about 500 papers that have appeared since the mid-2006 to the end of 2014, including static, dynamic, deterministic, and stochastic environments, based on shop environments as single machine, parallel machine, flowshop, job shop, or open shop.

TL;DR: In this paper, the applicability of an integrated TOPSIS and DoE method to solve different Computer-Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) selection problems in real-time industrial applications is explored.
Abstract: The selection of Computer-Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) technologies becomes more complex as the decision makers in the manufacturing organization have to assess a wide range of alternatives based on a set of attributes. Although, a lot of Multi-Attribute Decision-Making (MADM) methods are available to deal with selection applications, this paper aims to explore the applicability of an integrated TOPSIS and DoE method to solve different CIM selection problems in real-time industrial applications. Four CIM selection problems, which include selection of (a) an industrial robot, (b) a rapid prototyping process, (c) a CNC machine tool and (d) plant layout design, are considered in this paper. TOPSIS method and Design of Experiment (DoE) are used together to identify critical selection attributes and their interactions of all these cases by fitting a polynomial to the experimental data in a multiple linear regression analysis. This mathematical model development process involves TOPSIS experiments with the model. The regression meta-model greatly reduced the cost, time and amount of the calculation step in application the TOPSIS model. Application results were validated and shown that they provide good approximations to four decision making problem's results in the literature.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide an insight into the determinants of the customers' attitude and behavioural intention to use Internet banking services, paying special attention to the role of perceived risk, trust, enjoyment, website design and social influence.
Abstract: Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to provide an insight into the determinants of the customers’ attitude and behavioural intention to use Internet banking services, paying special attention to the role of perceived risk, trust, enjoyment, website design and social influence. Design/methodology/approach – A research model grounded on the technology acceptance model (TAM) reflecting the effects of trust, perceived risk, perceived enjoyment, perceived website design and social influence on TAM constructs is proposed. The structural equation modelling technique is used to analyse a sample of 697 individual Internet banking users in India through an online survey. Findings – The results of data analysis confirm some of the hypotheses drawn from the literature. Consistent with some of the other studies, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, trust and perceived enjoyment are found to be immediate direct determinants of customers’ attitude towards using Internet banking. Attitude, perceived risk, perc...

TL;DR: An adjusted diffusion of innovation model based on Rogers’ diffusion of innovations theory (DOI) is proposed and used in this paper to empirically determine the predictors influencing the use of public sector open data.
Abstract: Government legislation and calls for greater levels of oversight and transparency are leading public bodies to publish their raw datasets online. Policy makers and elected officials anticipate that the accessibility of open data through online Government portals for citizens will enable public engagement in policy making through increased levels of fact based content elicited from open data. The usability and benefits of such open data are being argued as contributing positively towards public sector reforms, which are under extreme pressures driven by extended periods of austerity. However, there is very limited scholarly studies that have attempted to empirically evaluate the performance of government open data websites and the acceptance and use of these data from a citizen perspective. Given this research void, an adjusted diffusion of innovation model based on Rogers' diffusion of innovations theory (DOI) is proposed and used in this paper to empirically determine the predictors influencing the use of public sector open data. A good understanding of these predictors affecting the acceptance and use of open data will likely assist policy makers and public administrations in determining the policy instruments that can increase the acceptance and use of open data through an active promotion campaign to engage-contribute-use.
