Journal ArticleDOI
Plant responses to red and far-red lights, applications in horticulture
Sabine Demotes-Mainard,Thomas Péron,Adrien Corot,Jessica Bertheloot,José Le Gourrierec,Sandrine Pelleschi-Travier,Laurent Crespel,Philippe Morel,Lydie Huché-Thélier,Rachid Boumaza,Alain Vian,Vincent Guérin,Nathalie Leduc,Soulaiman Sakr +13 more
TL;DR: This review presents the state of the art in perception of red (R) and far-red (FR) wavelengths and of the R:FR ratio by plants, phenotypic plant responses, and the molecular mechanisms related to these responses and the mechanisms underlying these differences in plant responses are addressed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sugars are under light control during bud burst in Rosa sp.
Tiffanie Girault,Farouk Abidi,Farouk Abidi,Monique Sigogne,Sandrine Pelleschi-Travier,Rachid Boumaza,Soulaiman Sakr,Nathalie Leduc +7 more
TL;DR: Results show that a mobilization of bud and the carrying stem sucrose reserves only takes place in light and accompanies the bud burst, and the activity of the RhVI vacuolar acid invertase is reduced in darkness, although it is strongly stimulated by light.
Journal ArticleDOI
Indicators of nitrogen status for ornamental woody plants based on optical measurements of leaf epidermal polyphenol and chlorophyll contents
TL;DR: The mass-based leaf N content of a sample of young expanded leaves exposed to direct sunlight was tightly correlated with shoot N content and differentiated treatments several weeks before shoot growth reduction for the three species, using as an index of plant N status.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impacts of light and temperature on shoot branching gradient and expression of strigolactone synthesis and signalling genes in rose.
Samia Djennane,Samia Djennane,Laurence Hibrand-Saint Oyant,Koji Kawamura,David Lalanne,Michel Laffaire,Tatiana Thouroude,Séverine Chalain,Soulaiman Sakr,Rachid Boumaza,Fabrice Foucher,Nathalie Leduc +11 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the bud burst gradient along the stem cannot be explained by a gradient of expression of RwMAX genes but rather by their local level of expression at each individual position.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sensory profiles and preference analysis in ornamental horticulture: The case of the rosebush
Rachid Boumaza,Rachid Boumaza,Lydie Huché-Thélier,Sabine Demotes-Mainard,Eric Le Coz,Nathalie Leduc,Sandrine Pelleschi-Travier,El Mostafa Qannari,Soulaiman Sakr,Soulaiman Sakr,Pierre Santagostini,Ronan Symoneaux,Vincent Guérin +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, Boumaza et al. used the rosebush as a plant model to assess 10 rosebushes and found that 67% of the consumers were satisfactorily explained by the attributes.
