The Changes of Moisture Absorption Properties during the Service Life of External Thermal Insulation Composite System

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide initial results from experimental work on the durability of external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS), in order to predict service life of ETICS, the accelerated climatic cycle was composed on the basis of earlier scientific research and the statistic data of the Lithuanian climate.
Journal ArticleDOI

The impact of the exterior painted thin-layer render’s water vapour and liquid water permeability on the moisture state of the wall insulating system

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the possible limits of vapour resistance and liquid water permeability alteration in the case of the exterior painted thin-layer render finish of the building walls from outside insulated with the mineral wool slabs when exploited in the area of cold and humid climate.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of vertical air gaps to thermal transmittance of horizontal thermal insulating layer

TL;DR: In this article, the authors assess the reliability of standard method, used to determine the impact of such air gaps on the effective thermal conductivity of the thermal insulating layer by comparing the results of calculations and measurements of thermal conductivities, also determine the correction factors for thermal transmittance of horizontal thermal insulation layers due to the forming vertical air gaps between the single-ply mineral wool boards.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Durability Test Method for External Thermal Insulation Composite System Used in Cold and Wet Climate Countries

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a durability prediction method for ETICS, which could be applied in cold and wet climate regions, based on the international and nowadays applicable standards for systems service life assessment (ETAG 004, ISO 15462), and completes them with other necessary impact criteria.

Research of low energy house design and construction opportunities in Lithuania

TL;DR: In this article, the most popular European mid-region passive house concept and the energetic performance of the house, designed and built according to its requirements is analyzed, the main differences of this concept to the normative requirements of Lithuanian building regulations and proposals to improve provisions for the construction of low energy buildings in...
