TL;DR: In this article, the melting point of an organic chemical is determined by checking against known materials for purity and stability, and this cannot be done by TG, since it involves no mass change.
Abstract: When an organic chemical is prepared, it is checked against known materials for purity and stability. One of the easiest ways of doing this is to determine its melting point! This cannot be done by TG, since it involves no mass change! This also applies to solid-solid phase transitions and to some solid-state reactions. We therefore need a technique that identifies these transitions. Such a technique will give us a simple way of identifying and assessing the quality of materials that may be applied across a large range of substances, from polymers to metals.

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of trans-[PdBr2(amine)(indy)] complexes with pendant teriary amine functionalities in the side chain of the NHC ligand has been prepared by postcoordinative modification of a single bromoalkyl-functionalized precursor complex.

TL;DR: The standard enthalpies of decomposition of the complexes (ΔHxxx), as well as the lattice standard enthpies for the Lewis acid/base reactions in the gaseous phase were calculated by means of thermochemical cycles, and the standard entHxxx of arsenic-sulphur (DAs-S)) and arsenic-oxygen (D(As-O)) bonds were estimated as mentioned in this paper.

TL;DR: In this article, the relationship between the room-temperature structures of transition-metal complexes and their thermal stabilities was investigated and different factors affecting the thermal stability were also clarified.
