Phase Transitions in LaFeAsO: Structural, Magnetic, Elastic, and Transport Properties, Heat Capacity and Mössbauer Spectra
Michael A. McGuire,Andrew D. Christianson,Athena S. Sefat,Brian C. Sales,Mark D Lumsden,Rongying Jin,E. Andrew Payzant,David Mandrus,Yanbing Luan,Veerle Keppens,Vijayalaksmi Varadarajan,Joseph W. Brill,Raphaël P. Hermann,Moulay Tahar Sougrati,Fernande Grandjean,Gary J. Long +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed experimental investigation of LaFeAsO, the parent material in the series of ''FeAs'' based oxypnictide superconductors, is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ferromagnetism Near Room Temperature in the Cleavable van der Waals Crystal Fe5GeTe2
Andrew F. May,Dmitry Ovchinnikov,Qiang Zheng,Raphaël P. Hermann,Stuart Calder,Bevin Huang,Zaiyao Fei,Yaohua Liu,Xiaodong Xu,Michael A. McGuire +9 more
TL;DR: This work establishes intrinsic magnetic order at room temperature in bulk crystals through magnetization measurements and in exfoliated, thin flakes using the anomalous Hall effect and reveals Fe5GeTe2 as a prime candidate for incorporating intrinsic magnetism into functional van der Waals heterostructures and devices near room temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI
Einstein oscillators in thallium filled antimony skutterudites.
Raphaël P. Hermann,Rongying Jin,Werner Schweika,Fernande Grandjean,David Mandrus,Brian C. Sales,Gary J. Long +6 more
TL;DR: Heat capacity measurements on Tl0.8Co4Sb11Sn as compared to CoSb3 are consistent with the presence of a localized vibrational mode associated with the "rattling" thallium atoms in this filled skutterudite compound, providing perhaps the clearest example of local mode behavior in a concentrated metallic system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shape Induced Symmetry in Self-Assembled Mesocrystals of Iron Oxide Nanocubes
Sabrina Disch,Erik Wetterskog,Raphaël P. Hermann,Raphaël P. Hermann,German Salazar-Alvarez,Peter Busch,Thomas Brückel,Lennart Bergström,Saeed Kamali +8 more
TL;DR: Grazing incidence small-angle scattering and electron microscopy have been used to show for the first time that nonspherical nanoparticles can assemble into highly ordered body-centered tetragonal mesocrystals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lattice dynamics and structure of GeTe, SnTe and PbTe
Paula Bauer Pereira,Paula Bauer Pereira,Ilya Sergueev,Ilya Sergueev,Stéphane Gorsse,J. Dadda,Eckhard Müller,Eckhard Müller,Raphaël P. Hermann,Raphaël P. Hermann +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the lattice dynamics in the IV-VI compounds GeTe, SnTe and PbTe were studied by 125Te and 119Sn nuclear inelastic scattering and the obtained partial density of phonon states were compared with published theoretical calculations.
