Ferromagnetism Near Room Temperature in the Cleavable van der Waals Crystal Fe5GeTe2

TL;DR: This work establishes intrinsic magnetic order at room temperature in bulk crystals through magnetization measurements and in exfoliated, thin flakes using the anomalous Hall effect and reveals Fe5GeTe2 as a prime candidate for incorporating intrinsic magnetism into functional van der Waals heterostructures and devices near room temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Einstein oscillators in thallium filled antimony skutterudites.

TL;DR: Heat capacity measurements on Tl0.8Co4Sb11Sn as compared to CoSb3 are consistent with the presence of a localized vibrational mode associated with the "rattling" thallium atoms in this filled skutterudite compound, providing perhaps the clearest example of local mode behavior in a concentrated metallic system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Shape Induced Symmetry in Self-Assembled Mesocrystals of Iron Oxide Nanocubes

TL;DR: Grazing incidence small-angle scattering and electron microscopy have been used to show for the first time that nonspherical nanoparticles can assemble into highly ordered body-centered tetragonal mesocrystals.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lattice dynamics and structure of GeTe, SnTe and PbTe

TL;DR: In this paper, the lattice dynamics in the IV-VI compounds GeTe, SnTe and PbTe were studied by 125Te and 119Sn nuclear inelastic scattering and the obtained partial density of phonon states were compared with published theoretical calculations.
