Journal ArticleDOI
Estimated HIV incidence in the United States, 2006-2009.
Joseph Prejean,Ruiguang Song,Angela L. Hernandez,Rebecca Ziebell,Timothy A. Green,Frances J. Walker,Lillian S. Lin,Qian An,Jonathan Mermin,Amy Lansky,H. Irene Hall +10 more
TL;DR: Overall, HIV incidence in the United States was relatively stable 2006–2009; however, among young MSM, particularly black/African American MSM, incidence increased and expanded, improved, and targeted prevention is necessary to reduce HIV incidence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence of transmitted drug resistance associated mutations and HIV-1 subtypes in new HIV-1 diagnoses, U.S.-2006.
William Wheeler,Rebecca Ziebell,Helena Zabina,Danuta Pieniazek,Joseph Prejean,Ulana Bodnar,Kristen Mahle,Walid Heneine,Jeffrey A. Johnson,Hall Hi +9 more
TL;DR: The prevalence of TDRM in persons newly diagnosed with HIV is higher than in previous U.S. studies; however, this is not necessarily a significant trend and continued reporting of sequence data from all sources will improve representativeness and accuracy in analyzing trends in transmitted drug resistance and genetic diversity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association of Physician Adenoma Detection Rates With Postcolonoscopy Colorectal Cancer.
Joanne E. Schottinger,Christopher D. Jensen,Nirupa R. Ghai,Jessica Chubak,Jeffrey Lee,Aruna Kamineni,Ethan A. Halm,Celette Sugg-Skinner,Natalia Udaltsova,Wei Zhao,Rebecca Ziebell,Richard Contreras,Eric J Kim,Bruce Fireman,Charles P. Quesenberry,Douglas A. Corley +15 more
TL;DR: Within 3 large community-based settings, colonoscopies by physicians with higher adenoma detection rates were significantly associated with lower risks of postcolonoscopy colorectal cancer across a broad range of adenomas detection rate values.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sensitive sentinel mutation screening reveals differential underestimation of transmitted HIV drug resistance among demographic groups.
TL;DR: A significant proportion of TDR, primarily in older, white MSM, was undetected by conventional testing, and the greatest underestimation was for rapid-decaying mutations typically associated with the source virus having recent exposure to antiretroviral therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluating and Improving Cancer Screening Process Quality in a Multilevel Context: The PROSPR II Consortium Design and Research Agenda.
Elisabeth F. Beaber,Aruna Kamineni,Andrea N. Burnett-Hartman,Brian Hixon,Sarah Kobrin,Christopher I. Li,Malia Oliver,Katharine A. Rendle,Celette Sugg Skinner,Kaitlin W. Todd,Ying Zheng,Rebecca Ziebell,Erica S. Breslau,Jessica Chubak,Douglas A. Corley,Robert T. Greenlee,Jennifer S. Haas,Ethan A. Halm,Stacey Honda,Christine Neslund-Dudas,Debra P. Ritzwoller,Joanne E. Schottinger,Jasmin A. Tiro,Anil Vachani,V. Paul Doria-Rose +24 more
TL;DR: The design, methods, and research agenda of the Population-based Research to Optimize the Screening Process (PROSPR II) consortium aim to improve screening processes and reduce disparities through investigation of factors affecting cervical, colorectal, and lung cancer screening in U.S. community health care settings.
