Journal ArticleDOI
Image analysis of restriction enzyme fingerprint autoradiograms
TL;DR: A genome mapping system has been developed that reads and assembles data from clones analysed by restriction enzyme fragmentation and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis that can be most effectively obtained by the use of a scanning densitometer and image-processing package.
Journal ArticleDOI
WormBase: better software, richer content
Erich M. Schwarz,Igor Antoshechkin,Carol Bastiani,Tamberlyn Bieri,Darin Blasiar,Payan Canaran,Juancarlos Chan,Nansheng Chen,Wen J. Chen,Paul Davis,Tristan J. Fiedler,Lisa-Christine Girard,Todd W. Harris,Eimear E. Kenny,Ranjana Kishore,Daniel Lawson,Raymond Lee,Hans-Michael Müller,Cecilia Nakamura,Phil Ozersky,Andrei Petcherski,Anthony Rogers,William Spooner,Mary Ann Tuli,Kimberly Van Auken,Daniel Wang,Richard Durbin,John Spieth,Lincoln Stein,Paul W. Sternberg +29 more
TL;DR: WormBase (), the public database for genomics and biology of Caenorhabditis elegans, has been restructured for stronger performance and expanded for richer biological content.
Journal ArticleDOI
DNAH11 Localization in the Proximal Region of Respiratory Cilia Defines Distinct Outer Dynein Arm Complexes.
Gerard W. Dougherty,Niki T. Loges,Judith A. Klinkenbusch,Heike Olbrich,Petra Pennekamp,Tabea Menchen,Johanna Raidt,Julia Wallmeier,Claudius Werner,Cordula Westermann,Christian Ruckert,Virginia Mirra,Rim Hjeij,Yasin Memari,Richard Durbin,Anja Kolb-Kokocinski,Kavita Praveen,Mohammad Amin Kashef,Mohammad Amin Kashef,Sara Kashef,Fardin Eghtedari,Karsten Häffner,Pekka Valmari,Gyorgy Baktai,Micha Aviram,Lea Bentur,Israel Amirav,Erica E. Davis,Nicholas Katsanis,Martina Brueckner,Artem Shaposhnykov,Gaia Pigino,Bernd Dworniczak,Heymut Omran +33 more
TL;DR: A monoclonal antibody specific to DNAH11 was designed and validated and performed high-resolution IFM of both control and PCD-affected human respiratory cells, as well as samples from green fluorescent protein (GFP)-left-right dynein mice, to determine the ciliary localization of DNAH 11.
Journal ArticleDOI
Estimating the human mutation rate from autozygous segments reveals population differences in human mutational processes
Vagheesh M. Narasimhan,Raheleh Rahbari,Aylwyn Scally,Arthur Wuster,Arthur Wuster,Dan Mason,Yali Xue,John Wright,Richard C. Trembath,Eamonn R. Maher,David A. van Heel,Adam Auton,Matthew E. Hurles,Chris Tyler-Smith,Richard Durbin +14 more
TL;DR: A multi-generational estimate from the autozygous segment in a non-European population that gives insight into the contribution of post-zygotic mutations and population-specific mutational processes is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clustering of phosphorylation site recognition motifs can be exploited to predict the targets of cyclin-dependent kinase
TL;DR: A new computational strategy is introduced to predict the targets of CDKs and use it to identify new biologically interesting candidates, and data suggest that regulatory modules may exist in protein sequence as clusters of short sequence motifs.
