Journal ArticleDOI

The large scale synthesis of pure imidazolium and pyrrolidinium ionic liquids

TL;DR: In this article, a reliable method for producing large quantities of high quality ionic liquids was described, and it was shown that imidazoliums are not "special" due to their "inherently fluorescent" nature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure and magnetic behavior of transition metal based ionic liquids

TL;DR: A series of ionic liquids containing different paramagnetic anions have been prepared and all show paramagnetic behavior with potential applications for magnetic and electrochromic switching as well as novel magnetic transport.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tetraalkylphosphonium-based ionic liquids

TL;DR: In this paper, the physical, chemical, and optical properties of tetraalkylphosphonium-ionic liquids having anions with a wide range of masses were measured and reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vibrational spectra of imidazolium tetrafluoroborate ionic liquids

TL;DR: In this article, the Raman and infrared spectra of a series of 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ionic liquids (C2-4MIM][BF4) are reported and analyzed using Density Functional Theory (DFT) and RHF methods at the 6-311+G(2d,p) computational level.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ionic liquids as a class of materials for transdermal delivery and pathogen neutralization

TL;DR: This work establishes the use of ILs for simultaneous enhancement of topical drug delivery and antibiotic activity, and choline-geranate emerged as a multipurpose IL with excellent antimicrobial activity, minimal toxicity to epithelial cells as well as skin, and effective permeation enhancement for drug delivery.
