Schlafly,David J. Schlegel,D. Sierra-Porta,Gregory Tarle,B. A. Weaver,Christophe Yèche,Pauline Zarrouk,Rongpu Zhou,Zhimin Zhou,Hu Zou +59 more
TL;DR: The DESI Bright Galaxy Survey (BGS) as discussed by the authors was designed to produce the most detailed map of the universe during the dark energy-dominated epoch with redshifts of >10 million galaxies spanning 14,000 deg2.

Dynamical Masses for a Complete Census of Local Dwarf Galaxies
Joshua D. Simon,Keith Bechtol,Alex Drlica-Wagner,Marla Geha,Vera Gluscevic,Alex Ji,Evan N. Kirby,Tenglin Li,Ethan O. Nadler,Andrew B. Pace,Annika H. G. Peter,Risa H. Wechsler +11 more
TL;DR: The 2020s are poised to continue the past 15 years of significant advances based on the discovery and follow-up of nearby dwarf galaxies as mentioned in this paper, and Maximizing the scientific impact of dwarfs discovered in upcoming imaging surveys will require both major spectroscopic surveys on 6-10m telescopes and multiplexed spectroscopy with even larger apertures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Line confusion in spectroscopic surveys and its possible effects: Shifts in Baryon Acoustic Oscillations position
Elena Massara,Elena Massara,Elena Massara,Shirley Ho,Christopher M. Hirata,J. DeRose,J. DeRose,J. DeRose,Risa H. Wechsler,Risa H. Wechsler,Xiao Fang +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that misidentifying H$\beta$ emitter as [O III] emitter will cause a shift in the inferred radial position of the galaxy by approximately 90 Mpc/h.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modeling Galaxy-Mass Correlations in Dissipationless Simulations
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used high-resolution dissipationless simulations of the concordance flat LCDM model to make predictions for the galaxy-mass correlations and compare them to the recent SDSS weak lensing measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI
SPOKES: An end-to-end simulation facility for spectroscopic cosmological surveys
Brian Nord,Adam Amara,Alexandre Refregier,La. Gamper,Lukas Gamper,B. Hambrecht,Chihway Chang,Jaime E. Forero-Romero,Santiago Serrano,Carlos E. Cunha,O. Coles,Andrina Nicola,Michael T. Busha,A. H. Bauer,Will Saunders,Stephanie Jouvel,Donnacha Kirk,Risa H. Wechsler,Risa H. Wechsler +18 more
TL;DR: SPOKES (SPectrOscopic KEn Simulation), an end-to-end simulation facility for spectroscopic cosmological surveys designed to address this challenge, is presented and the architecture, first science, and computational performance results are presented.
