Introducing an application of an industry 4.0 solution for circular supply chain management

This work introduces the design and development of smart green environment of garbage monitoring system by measuring the garbage level in real time and to alert the municipality where never the bin is full based on the types of garbage. The proposed system consisted the ultrasonic sensors which measure the garbage level, an ARM microcontroller which controls system operation whereas everything will be connected to ThingSpeak. This work demonstrates a system that allows the waste management to monitor based on the level of the garbage depth inside the dustbin. The system shows the status of different four types of garbage; domestic waste, paper, glass and plastic through LCD and ThingSpeak in a real time to store the data for future use and analysis, such as prediction of peak level of garbage bin fullness. It is expected that this system can create greener environment by monitoring and controlling the collection of garbage smartly through Internet-of-Things.

Nowadays certain actions are taken to improve the level of cleanliness in the country. People are getting more active in doing all the things possible to clean their surroundings. Various movements are also started by the government to increase cleanliness. We will try to build a system which will notify the corporations to empty the bin on time. In this system, we will put a sensor on top of the garbage bin which will detect the total level of garbage inside it according to the total size of the bin. When the garbage will reach the maximum level, a notification will be sent to the corporation's office, then the employees can take further actions to empty the bin. This system will help in cleaning the city in a better way. By using this system people do not have to check all the systems manually but they will get a notification when the bin will get filled.

Garbage monitoring system using IoT

The Internet of Things (IoT) represents the physical world of devices and objects connected over the network using wireless sensors. This chapter gives detailed study about the different applications of IoT with the integration of WSN (wireless sensor networks) with Internet connectivity. This allows applications to communicate among themselves and users on a global scale. A large number of IoT applications, like smart home, buildings, transport, water management, healthcare, agriculture, environment and industries, together form the smart city. Along with this, various challenges in the implementation of applications are discussed related to the reliability, sustainability, and efficiency. An open architecture looking into current need of IoT is also proposed and discussed.

The banking system in today’s world is open to threats of fraud and cyber-attacks. Since todays banking system is built on centralized databases, it is easy for an attacker to penetrate in any such database which will easily compromise all the information and data of the customers of the bank. This vulnerability of today’s banking system can be reduced by re-building the banking systems on top of block chain technology, which will remove the centralized database architecture and decentralize the data over the block chain, thus reducing the threat of database being hacked. Since the transactions over the block chain technology is verified by each and every nodes of the chain, it will make the transactions more and more secure thus making the overall banking system faster and secure.
