Journal Article
Endogenous angiotensin I concentration in human plasma.
TL;DR: The normal range found for angiotensin I in venous blood of apparently normal, male subjects was 25 to 143 pg/ml, and a significant correlation between PA-I and PRA was found in normal subjects, while no differences were observed in hypertensive patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isolated systolic hypertension in the elderly: An epidemiologic review
TL;DR: Isolated systolic hypertension (ISH) is more prevalent in elderly women than in elderly men, and there is evidence that the prevalence of ISH is decreasing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Noninvasive assessment of systolic and diastolic left ventricular function in female runners.
TL;DR: The higher left ventricular mass of female runners is not associated with changes of systolic and diastolic LV function, and the unchanged ratio of the peak velocities of LV filling during atrial contraction and early filling indicates that LV distensibility is unaltered in the athletes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antihypertensive therapy in older patients with isolated systolic hypertension: the Syst-Eur experience in general practice
Hilde Celis,Y Yodfat,L. Thijs,D Clement,J Cozic,P De Cort,F Forette,M Grégoire,J Heyrman,G Stibbe,M Van den Haute,J.A. Staessen,Robert Fagard +12 more
TL;DR: A significant blood pressure reduction can be achieved and maintained in older patients with isolated systolic hypertension followed by general practitioners, and whether this blood Pressure reduction results in a clinically meaningful decrease of cardiovascular complications is under investigation.
