TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a fuel injection apparatus for internal combustion engines with one fuel pump for each cylinder of the engine, which pump has a pump piston, driven by the engine in a reciprocating motion, that defines a pump work chamber to which fuel is delivered from a fuel tank and which communicates with a fuel injector valve that has an injection valve member by which at least one injection opening is controlled and which is movable in an opening direction counter to a closing force by the pressure generated in the pump work chambers.
Abstract: The fuel injection apparatus for internal combustion engines has one fuel pump for each cylinder of the engine, which pump has a pump piston, driven by the engine in a reciprocating motion, that defines a pump work chamber to which fuel is delivered from a fuel tank and which communicates with a fuel injection valve that has an injection valve member by which at least one injection opening is controlled and which is movable in an opening direction counter to a closing force by the pressure generated in the pump work chamber, by means of a first electrically controlled control valve, a communication of the pump work chamber with a diversion chamber is controlled, and by means of a second electrically controlled control valve, the pressure prevailing in a control pressure chamber of the fuel injection valve is controlled, by which the injection valve member is urged at least indirectly in the closing direction. The diversion chamber is a pressure reservoir, in which an elevated pressure, compared to the pressure prevailing in the fuel tank, is maintained.

TL;DR: In this article, an electrically triggered control valve is provided, by which a communication of the line with a relief chamber is controlled, and by which the pressure prevailing in a control pressure chamber of the fuel injection valve is controlled.
Abstract: The fuel injection apparatus has one fuel pump or each cylinder of the engine, which pump has a pump piston, driven by the engine in a reciprocating motion, that defines a pump work chamber, which communicates via a line with a fuel injection valve, disposed on the engine separately from the fuel pump, which valve has an injection valve member, by which at least one injection opening is controlled, and which is movable in the opening direction, counter to a closing force, by the pressure generated in the pump work chamber; a first electrically triggered control valve is provided, by which a communication of the line with a relief chamber is controlled. A second electrically triggered control valve is provided, which is disposed near the fuel injection valve and by which the pressure prevailing in a control pressure chamber of the fuel injection valve is controlled, by which pressure the injection valve member is urged at least indirectly in the closing direction. Both control valves are disposed on the fuel injection valve.

TL;DR: In this article, a valve for controlling liquids is provided with a liquid-filled coupling chamber, which is disposed between an actuator piston of a piezoelectric actuator and a piston that actuates a valve member.
Abstract: A valve for controlling liquids which for its actuation is provided with a liquid-filled coupling chamber, which is disposed between an actuator piston of a piezoelectric actuator and a piston that actuates a valve member. To compensate for liquid losses suffered by the coupling chamber, which is briefly at high in each work cycle, the pressure difference that exists during the return stroke of the actuator piston between the coupling chamber and the opposite sides of the actuator piston and of the that actuates the valve member that are remote from the coupling chamber is utilized to achieve refilling in valveless fashion along gaps. The valve is used for use in fuel injection systems for internal combustion engines of motor vehicles.

TL;DR: In this article, a light ray is used to irradiate the exhaust gas to be measured over the length of a measuring section and is weakened or changed more or less, depending on the content of constituents.
Abstract: A device is proposed for measuring the composition of fluids, in particular of constituents of exhaust gases from internal combustion engines, in which a light ray (32, 31) is used to irradiate the exhaust gas to be measured over the length of a measuring section (29) and is weakened or changed more or less, depending on the content of constituents. The light signal being received is advantageously registered by a measured length light receiver (18) which is shielded light-tight against the light emitting light source (14) and is evaluated in relation to the original light emission, in an evaluation circuit (26). In this simple way, accurate information is obtained of the exhaust gas clouding and of the loading of a fluid or gas with constituents which are optically active.

TL;DR: In this paper, a solenoid valve adjusts a fuel-injection level of the fuelinjection pump by adjusting its throttling for the fuel-insjection passage to supply the fuel to a compressor.
Abstract: This invention pertains to a fuel-injection device, wherein a solenoid valve adjust a fuel-injection level of the fuel-injection pump by adjusting its throttling for the fuel-injection passage to supply the fuel to a compressor. A driving pulse to drive the solenoid valve is formed taking various factors into consideration. For example, the driving pulse is composed of its segment having a large duty ratio and of its segment having a small duty ratio in order to secure a responsiveness of the solenoid valve. The driving pulse is formed on the bases of a change in electrical voltage to drive the solenoid valve, varying levels of voltage drop in a wire harness installed for every cylinder, and of varying levels of responsiveness unique with fuel-injection pumps.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a non-positive fit of an actuator to a valve body by means of a nonpositive fit, which corresponded to the thermal expansion of the actuator and transmission elements reaching as far as the valve seal seat.
Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel-injection valve (1) comprising an actuator (2), which is located in an actuator housing (13) that is connected on the side of a valve needle to a valve body (5, 6) by means of a non-positive fit. The actuator (2) is supported on the opposite end (8) of the actuator housing (13) to said connection. A compensatory section (3) of the actuator housing (13) consists of a material with negligible or a negative thermal expansion, so that the thermal expansion of the actuator housing (13) and the valve body (5) in succession reaching as far as a valve seal seat, corresponds approximately to the thermal expansion of the actuator (2) and transmission elements (12) reaching as far as the valve seal seat. The exterior of the actuator housing (13) is radially surrounded by a fuel chamber that is traversed by fuel.
