Journal ArticleDOI

Cilengitide modulates attachment and viability of human glioma cells, but not sensitivity to irradiation or temozolomide in vitro.

TL;DR: It is found that, at clinically relevant concentrations, cilengitide induces detachment in some but not all glioma cell lines, while the effect on cell viability is modest, and suggests that the beneficial clinical effects derived from cilENGitide in vivo may arise from altered perfusion, which promotes temozolomide delivery toglioma cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel tool to analyze MRI recurrence patterns in glioblastoma

TL;DR: Analysis of recurrence patterns revealed no difference between the groups in the size of the recurrent tumor or in the differential effect on the distance of the recurrences from the preoperative tumor location, and the data show the feasibility of groupwise recurrence pattern analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Epilepsy in brain tumor patients.

TL;DR: Despite the lack of high-level evidence data, the use of anticonvulsants devoid of pharmacokinetic interactions should be recommended in patients with epilepsy symptomatic of brain tumors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Temozolomide: a milestone in neuro-oncology and beyond?

TL;DR: The benefit of temozolomide chemotherapy is restricted to patients whose tumors have a methylated methylguanine methyltransferase gene promotor and are thus unable to repair some of the chemotherapy-induced DNA damage.
