Abstract: A generalization of the materials of a comprehensive paleogeographic study in the ancient glacial region of the Russian Plain is aimed at establishing regional features of the geomorphological structure and patterns of spatial variability of indicators. For these purposes, geological and geomorphological zoning of the territory was carried out on the basis of a systematic approach and under the control of paleogeographic expertise. On the compiled map, the territorial divisions are highlighted: against the background of different age paleogeographic zones, 4 geological provinces and 14 geologic-geomorphological regions are distinguished. Their complex characteristics are obtained by the totality of the leading geomorphological processes. Particular attention is paid to the study of the glacial relief, which plays an important role in paleogeographic reconstructions of this area. Marginal zones infrastructure of the ice sheets of different ages has been studied in detail, which makes it possible to make more exact the maximum and stadial boundaries of the Moscow and Kalinin ice sheets. Thus, regional features of the structure and composition of the morpholithogenic basis of landscapes are established. The laws of its formation are confirmed: geological and geomorphological heredity and paleogeographic conditionality. The study of regional features of the geomorphological structure of the ancient glacial region makes a significant contribution to the reconstruction of the glacial rhythm of the Pleistocene. The results of integrated geologic-geomorphological zoning facilitate the regional targeted estimation of the state of geoecological stability of geosystems and make it more justified.

Abstract: Аннотация Предмет. Курение табака является распространенной вредной привычкой в мире. Проблема курения затрагивает не только социальные, но и медицинские, в том числе стоматологические, аспекты. Раздражающее действие никотина на слизистую оболочку полости рта и слюнные железы приводит к развитию стоматитов, ксеростомии и галитоза. Профилактика заболеваний полости рта курящих людей имеет свои особенности в связи с изменениями в зубном налете и ротовой жидкости. В статье представлен опыт проведения экспресс-диагностики негативного влияния курения как управляемого процесса в практике врача-стоматолога. Цель — оценить эффективность экспресс-диагностики у хронических курильщиков на основании статистического анализа типа микрокристаллизации смешанной слюны (СС). Методология. Проведено клиническое обследование полости рта 120 добровольцев (58 женщин и 62 мужчин) в возрасте от 18 до 44 лет (средний возраст — 22,50±2,59 года). В основную группу курильщиков вошли 75 человек, в группу сравнения (некурящие добровольцы) — 45. Забор СС и статистический анализ типов микрокристаллизации у курящих и некурящих людей производился дважды: до и через 15 минут после курения. Результаты. Появление патологических морфотипов микрокристаллизации СС свидетельствует о негативном влиянии курения табака на ротовую жидкость. Получены данные об ухудшении функции слюны у курильщиков, что создает условия для усиления патологических процессов в полости рта. Выводы. Курение негативно влияет на морфологическую картину — микрокристаллическую структуру СС. Структурные изменения закристаллизованной СС могут служить диагностическими признаками заболеваний и могут быть использованы в диагностике и профилактике заболеваний органов полости рта при курении. Abstract: The GIS-based reconstructions of Lake Onego development in the Late Glacial (14500–12300 yrs ago) were performed. Reconstructions have been based on the deglaciation model of the Lake Onego depression, digital elevation model of the lake depression, SRTM model of its drainage basin and on the data obtained from the palaeolimnological studies of numerous lake sediment cores. This allowed us to distinguish six main stages of the lake development for which a series of detailed schemes were produced. 1. Formation of the ice-dammed lake as a result of the ice sheet retreating (14.5 cal ka BP). 2. Emerging of the southern and central parts of the lake basin from the ice cover (14.0 cal ka BP). 3. The maximum development of the proglacial lake (13.3 cal ka BP). The lake area in this period was around 33 000 km 2 . 4. The first regression (13.2 ka BP). 5. The second regression (12.4 ka BP). 6. The third regression (12.3 ka BP), when the area of the lake dropped to 18 000 km 2 . We created detailed digital maps of the main stages of Lake Onego development during the Late Glacial and calculated the spatial parameters of the lake. The quantitative data obtained in this study would be used in estimation of the volumes of the lake and outflow discharges in the past. Maps are available in electronic form.

Abstract: Long-term dynamics of the incidence pulmonary tuberculosis in the Tomsk region was studied. It was shown that in all considered cases the dynamics is the unsteady oscillatory process with complex modulation: there are cyclic trends with the period of 20 and more years and fluctuations of a shorter periods. The relation of the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis with tubercle bacilli in sputum with the air temperature and precipitation has been revealed. The coincidence is found during the cyclical trends of morbidity (26.4 y.) and precipitation (26.7 y.). The dependence of long-term epidemic process from the weather-climate changes is assumed. We have found a link between the seasonal dynamics of the tuberculosis and air temperature as well as the intensity of solar ultraviolet radiation (UV-B) in Tomsk. The high incidence of tuberculosis (above average annual) is noted from November to April, low - in June-September. The vitamin D role in seasonal variations of incidence is discussed.

Abstract: Studies of the loess-paleosol sequence of the center of the East European Plain have a long history. Previously, samples from loess-soil sections were taken for paleoreconstruction of climate and environment with low resolution, usually 1–2 samples per stratigraphic unit. This led to an unclear interpretation of the processes of soil formation and deposition of loess material. Our article discusses the LPS of the Likhvin stratotype section. High-resolution analysis was applied, which will allow us to trace in detail the history of the formation of the paleosol cover from the Middle Pleistocene to the present. A total of 245 bulk samples were taken from sections Likhvin-1/18 and Likhvin-2/18 and analyzed using laboratory analytics (the particle-size distribution, magnetic susceptibility, the loss on ignition values, total organic carbon, pH). Nine samples were taken for OSL dating and two samples for AMS dating to determine the age of the deposits. The micromorphological characteristics were described in detail for paleosols. The Salyn interglacial paleosol (MIS 5e) appeared to be comparable to the modern Retisols in its macro- and micromorphology and physical and chemical characteristics. As to the Krutitsa interstadial paleosol (identified formerly with MIS 5c in the sequence), our results suggest its belonging to MIS 5a. The modern prairie soils – Folic Cambisols – may be considered as its modern analogue. During the MIS 3, the Bryansk paleosol developed. The paleosol is polygenetic; in cooling, its main type (Cambisol) changed to Gleysol and finally became Cryosol. The paleosol described as belonging to MIS 7 displays all the characteristics of the Early Kamenka interglacial paleosol and develops the characteristics of Luvisols (Cutanic) type, its analogues being found in Latvia, Poland, and Hungary. There is a level of soil-formation above the Early Kamenka interglacial paleosol corresponding to the Romny paleosol (MIS 6) in its stratigraphic position. The latter statement is difficult to assert with confidence; it is not improbable that the level presents the Late Kamenka interstadial paleosol, also attributable to MIS 6.
