TL;DR: An analysis of all data taken by the BICEP2 and Keck Array cosmic microwave background (CMB) polarization experiments up to and including the 2014 observing season yields an upper limit r_{0.05}<0.09 at 95% confidence, which is robust to variations explored in analysis and priors.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
BICEP3: a 95GHz refracting telescope for degree-scale CMB polarization
Zeeshan Ahmed,Mandana Amiri,S. J. Benton,James J. Bock,James J. Bock,R. Bowens-Rubin,I. Buder,E. Bullock,Jake Connors,Jeffrey P. Filippini,J. A. Grayson,Mark Halpern,Gene C. Richter,K. L. Thompson,A. D. Turner,Abigail G. Vieregg,W. L. K. Wu,Ki Won Yoon +32 more
TL;DR: Bicep3 as discussed by the authors is a 550 mm-aperture refracting telescope for polarimetry of radiation in the cosmic microwave background at 95 GHz, with a focal plane area 5x larger than a Bicep2/Keck Array receiver.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the relation between the column density structures and the magnetic field orientation in the Vela C molecular complex
Juan D. Soler,P. A. R. Ade,Francisco E. Angile,Peter Ashton,S. J. Benton,M. J. Devlin,B. Dober,L. M. Fissel,Y. Fukui,Nicholas Galitzki,N. N. Gandilo,Patrick Hennebelle,Jacob Klein,Zhi-Yun Li,A. L. Thomas,Carole Tucker,G. S. Tucker,Derek Ward-Thompson +29 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the relative orientation between gas column density structures and the magnetic field changes progressively with increasing column density, from mostly parallel or having no preferred orientation at low column densities to mostly perpendicular at the highest densities.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Weber,D. V. Wiebe,J. Willmert,W. L. K. Wu,Ki Won Yoon +58 more
TL;DR: The Bicep3 as discussed by the authors is a 520mm aperture, compact two-lens refractor designed to observe the polarization of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) at 95 GHz.

TL;DR: The BICEP2 and the Keck Array are part of a program of experiments at the South Pole whose main goal is to achieve the sensitivity and systematic control necessary for measurements of the tensor-to-scalar ratio at σ(r) ~ 0:01 as discussed by the authors.
