Carbon sequestration and annual increase of carbon stock in a mangrove forest
Raghab Ray,Dipnarayan Ganguly,Chumki Chowdhury,M. Dey,Sudip Kumar Das,Manab Kumar Dutta,S. K. Mandal,Natasha Majumder,Tarun Kumar De,Sandip Mukhopadhyay,Tapan Kumar Jana +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that carbon stock is lower in the tropical mangrove forest than in the terrestrial tropical forest and their annual increase exhibits faster turn over than the tropical forest.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biogeochemical controls of arsenic occurrence and mobility in the Indian Sundarban mangrove ecosystem.
TL;DR: Results suggest that arsenic is immobilized during incorporation into the arsenic- bearing initial phase, and unlikely to be released into pore water until the complete microbial degradation of arsenic-bearing organic compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adsorption kinetic control of As(III & V) mobilization and sequestration by Mangrove sediment
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the sorption kinetics of As(III and V) and its feedback to arsenic mobilization in the mangrove sediment in the Sundarban wetlands.
Journal ArticleDOI
Implication of Organic Matter on Arsenic and Antimony Sequestration in Sediment: Evidence from Sundarban Mangrove Forest, India
TL;DR: It was observed that As and Sb formed a slightly more stable association with fulvic acid (FA) than with its humic acid (HA) counterpart, indicating that HA and FA probably markedly affect the mobility of As andSb in the mangrove environment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bioaccumulation of vanadium (V), niobium (Nb) and tantalum (Ta) in diverse mangroves of the Indian Sundarbans
Raghab Ray,Buddhadeb Dutta,S. K. Mandal,Aridane G. González,Oleg S. Pokrovsky,Oleg S. Pokrovsky,Tapan Kumar Jana +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe concentrations and distribution patterns of Group Va elements (V, Nb and Ta) in plant organs and sediments from diverse mangroves of the Indian Sundarbans.
