Journal ArticleDOI

Machinability study of pure aluminium and Al–12% Si alloys against uncoated and coated carbide inserts

TL;DR: In this article, an investigation has been undertaken to study the compatibility of cutting materials in dry machining of aluminium and Al-Si alloys, and the results of turning test, SEM pictures and chip morphology investigation of the cutting tool after machining clearly reveal the inefficiency of TiC, TiN, TiB2, Al2O3, and AlON.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of pretreatment methods and chamber pressure on morphology, quality and adhesion of HFCVD diamond coating on cemented carbide inserts

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of substrate pretreatment methods and chamber pressure on morphology, quality, and adhesion of the diamond film were studied, and the results indicated that diamond coating was deposited at medium pressure of 26.4 mbar on carbide substrate treated with acid not only exhibited best morphology but also highest coating-substrate adhesion and improved machining performance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of pretreatment, seeding and interlayer on nucleation and growth of HFCVD diamond films on cemented carbide tools

TL;DR: In this paper, a comparison was made on nucleation and growth of diamond crystals on various interlayers by hot filament CVD method, and the variations of diamond film growth morphology have been studied on unseeded and seeded carbide inserts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of negative dc substrate bias on morphology and adhesion of diamond coating synthesised on carbide turning tools by modified HFCVD method

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of negative bias voltage on the substrate on the morphology and adhesion of the diamond coating to the substrate and to test the performance of the coated tool in machining has been investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of raw and alkali treated cellulosic Grewia Flavescens natural fiber.

TL;DR: The physicochemical, mechanical, thermal as well as morphological characteristics of alkali treated cellulosic Grewia Flavescens are reported in this paper . But, they did not consider the performance of the GFF fiber in terms of tensile strength.
