Studies on gas–solid heat transfer during pneumatic conveying

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of solids feed rate (0.6-9.9 g/s), air velocity (4.21-6.47 m/s) and particle size (231-722.5μm) on air-solid heat transfer rate, heat transfer area, and air-salt heat transfer coefficient has been studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Two-dimensional simulation of gas-solid heat transfer in pneumatic conveying

TL;DR: In this article, a two-dimensional, two-fluid model for gas-solid heat transfer during dilute phase pneumatic conveying is numerically studied by formulating and solving a 2D model, which is arrived after neglecting minority terms in the governing equations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental study of thermal effectiveness in pneumatic conveying heat exchanger

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of particle size on thermal effectiveness of air and solid was found to be predominant at higher solids feed rates and an optimum air velocity has been found to exist at which the thermal effect of solids is maximum.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermal conductance of pneumatic conveying preheater for air-gypsum and air-sand heat transfer

TL;DR: In this paper, a dimensionless correlation has been proposed for thermal conductance that predicts the present experimental data for air-sand and air-gypsum heat transfer within an error of ±18%.
