This paper describes Optical Virtual Private Network (OVPN). The features and benefits of optical VPN are considered. Consider the OVPN model with a limited network resource on each section of the optical network. The optical network is described using the undirected graph with the set of nodes (correspond to the core optical nodes) and the set of edges (correspond to the link of the optical network connecting adjacent core nodes. Accepting the request for the implementation of OVPN, the service provider must, using the appropriate analysis algorithm, check whether the implementation of the corresponding virtual network is possible. To do this, the algorithm, firstly, selects a path between each pair of OVPN endpoints and, secondly, distributes the available bandwidth on each link in the selected path. If there is not enough bandwidth on the link, the received request for OVPN implementation will be rejected. Various algorithms for implementing the OVPN model: provider channels, individual flows and all flows OVPN are considered. This article discusses a possible approach to solving the problem of the distribution of optical network resources across several OVPN.

The problem of provisioning optical VPN

Connection setup with guaranteed quality of service (QoS) in the optical virtual private network (OVPN) is a major goal for the network providers. In order to support this we propose a QoS based OVPN connection set up mechanism over WDM network to the end customer. The proposed WDM network model can be specified in terms of QoS parameter such as blocking probability. We estimated this QoS parameter based on the hose-model OVPN. In this mechanism the OVPN connections also can be created or deleted according to the availability of the wavelengths in the optical path. In this paper we have considered the impact of the number of wavelengths on the computation of blocking probability. The goal of the work is to dynamically provide a best OVPN connection during frequent arrival of connection requests with QoS requirements.

Blocking probability in the hose-model optical VPN with different number of wavelengths

In a computer network, clients work with different applications; hence there are requirement of speed, bandwidth, delay etc. The parameters are called as Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. QoS guarantees the performance in a network. To meet the growing demand of Optical Virtual Private Network (OVPN), the Internet Service Providers (ISP) should use multiple techniques which ensure the Quality of Service. For performing data communication between nodes in a network the path to be followed should be known. In this project, BGP/OBGP protocols have been discussed and using this protocol, paths have been found between routers. Then the optimal path is found out based on the path attributes. Also the paths are examined for QoS parameters and the best path is chosen. An OVPN model has been discussed and modified for performing Routing & Wavelength Assignment (RWA) function based on QoS requirement which is expressed in terms of Q-factor and trying to achieve minimum blocking probability of path. The objective of this project is to assign best connection between nodes as per the request from clients operating with various applications.

OBGP based QoS analysis for optical virtual private network connection setup

Arrangement of expansible quality of service (QoS) attestation on wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) is a crucial and perplexing problem of the cutting threshold internet. From the essential performance parameters the blocking probability (BP) computation is a QoS adept in WDM network. This method of BP computation in a wavelength routed optical network (WRON) is presented, keep in mind that blocking-probability computation used only to a network that is remain same where, traffic demands arrive, wait for a convinced time, and finally dispense, so that the total traffic intensity for a time is same i.e. remain unchanged. For an active optical network (AON), despite the fact we lag behind that traffic loads will reach, wait for a fixed time, and afterword dispense, same we taken into account that the normalized intensity of traffic existing of a network is going to increase gradually with time as the number of users receiving on the typical network and also growth in their networking essentials towards large bandwidth uses, extended holding time uses, etc. Hence, blocking probability computation try not to use meanwhile traffic is not fixed. Otherwise, we have to take into account of "exhaustion probability," having a time duration, lastly we anticipated that the network is to run into capacity exhaust. The realization traffic distribution of network performs to achieve an exact blocking performance. So the BP for each available link having a shortest path or having a large weight in a sorted order taken into account, in the network the connection and node relation for the traffic between each link is dependant. The usefulness of this technique is to be applicable in low load region, exact, faster compare to other techniques. Furthermore, this technique is more useful to calculate the estimation of blocking probability per node as well as for the network.

Network Load Based Analysis of Blocking Probability in WDM Network

Due to high demand of optical virtual private network (OVPN) connection setup with guaranteed quality of service (QoS) requirement, it is necessary to provide such application by the provider network. In order to support this we propose a QoS based OVPN connection set up mechanism over WDM network to the end customer, which also maintains the minimum blocking probability. The proposed WDM network model can be specified in terms of QoS parameters such as bandwidth and delay. We estimated those QoS parameters based on available resources and QoS requirements in terms of quality factor (Q-Factor). In this mechanism the OVPN connections also can be created or deleted according to the availability of the resources. In this paper we have considered the effect of polarization mode dispersion for the computation of Q-Factors which is prominent effect at high speed networks. The goal of the work is to dynamically provide a best OVPN connection during frequent arrival of connection requests with QoS requirements. .
