TL;DR: The results show that the students who learn with the proposed system had better learning performance than those who learned with the conventional system, and had a positive attitude towards the proposedSystem.
Abstract: To encourage university students to take computer-programming courses, this study proposes a personalised ubiquitous learning support system based on multiple sources of personalised information. Two groups experimental and control of low-achieving students were recruited in this study. The 26 students in the control group used the conventional learning support system, while the 28 students in the experimental group learned with the proposed system. The groups were compared in terms of their computer-programming learning performance. The experimental group's attitudes towards the proposed system and the relationship between their attitudes and learning performance regarding the proposed system were also investigated. The results show that the students who learned with the proposed system had better learning performance than those who learned with the conventional system, and had a positive attitude towards the proposed system.

TL;DR: The findings of this study showed that the proposed workshop activities are beneficial for the students who outperformed on robotics with higher computational thinking; meanwhile, they could provide more relevant responses regarding the proposed learning activities.
Abstract: In recent years, engineering education has become one of the challenging issues in Thailand education. By teaching and learning subjects independently, students are limited to subject-oriented problems, which are not in reality. To address these flaws, integrating knowledge across disciplines becomes significantly necessary. In the past years, STEM has been accepted as one of the effective strategies to bridge the difference in nature of each field to construct more practical projects and innovations. Moreover, the educational robot can be employed as a learning tool in that strategy since it not only provides challenging learning missions but also promotes computational thinking for the students. Therefore, this research study proposed STEM learning activities on three-day workshop to lay out the foundation to the high-school science-and-technology students who are becoming the engineering students. The workshop comprises of eight phases to facilitate their learning inquiry process with hands-on experience; moreover, the activities were designed in consideration of promoting computational thinking with challenging learning missions. The findings of this study showed that the proposed workshop activities are beneficial for the students who outperformed on robotics with higher computational thinking; meanwhile, they could provide more relevant responses regarding the proposed learning activities.

TL;DR: A new procedure for integrating test item-concept relationship opinions based on majority density of multiple experts in order to enhance a concept-effect relationship model used for generating personalized feedback is presented.
Abstract: In the recent years, diagnosing students' learning problems after testing and providing learning suggestions for them are an important research issue. Many studies have been conducted to develop a method for analyzing learning barriers of students such that helpful learning suggestions or guidance can be provided based on the analysis results. In this paper, we present a new procedure for integrating test item-concept relationship opinions based on majority density of multiple experts in order to enhance a concept-effect relationship model used for generating personalized feedback. It provides a useful and practical way to decrease inconsistencies in the weighting criteria of multiple experts and to enhance the entire learning-diagnosis procedure for developing testing and diagnostic systems.

TL;DR: By analyzing the motivation questionnaires, it has found that the proposed approach has motivated them both males and females to construct their teaching materials, and this novel approach could help enhance the preparation of educational system.
Abstract: Pre-service teachers play a crucial role in educational system as they are required to be well-prepared for their future teaching to students. Hence, they should be able to construct their own teaching materials effectively. Presently, Augmented Reality has widely been adopted to make learning and teaching environments more engaging and interesting. Therefore, this study employs the advantages of AR technology to motivate the pre-service teachers in constructing the teaching materials. Project-based learning approach has been used in this proposal by requiring the pre-service teachers developing their materials in a structural manner with higher-order thinking process. By analyzing the motivation questionnaires, it has found that the proposed approach has motivated them both males and females to construct their teaching materials. This novel approach could help enhance the preparation of educational system.

TL;DR: This study performs a brief introduction to the characteristics of ScratchJr as well as a presentation of the results of a small-scale pilot study for the evaluation of Sc scratchJr as means of teaching basic programming concepts in the preschool classroom.
Abstract: In recent years, the teaching of programming and development of fundamental programming concepts at the preschool age has attracted the interest of the educational and scientific community. International research has highlighted that teaching programming to young children has a crucial influence on the development of their cognitive functions. There are currently plenty of available programming environments suited for preschoolers. Researchers are adapting their views concerning the age threshold at which young children can effectively get involved with programming. A new programming environment, which was designed to help preschoolers familiarise with basic programming concepts, in a developmentally appropriate manner, is ScratchJr. This study performs a brief introduction to the characteristics of ScratchJr as well as a presentation of the results of a small-scale pilot study for the evaluation of ScratchJr as means of teaching basic programming concepts in the preschool classroom.

TL;DR: An integrated learning diagnosis and formative assessment-based personalized web learning system was developed based on this approach and showed significantly better learning achievement and learning perceptions than those learning with the conventional learning system.
Abstract: The advancement of computer and communication technologies has enabled students to learn across various real-world contexts with supports from the learning system. In the meantime, researchers have emphasized the necessity of providing personalized learning guidance or support by considering individual students’ status and needs in order to improve their learning performance. Based on this perspective, this study proposes a formative assessment-based approach for improving the learning performance of students in a personalized learning environment. An integrated learning diagnosis and formative assessment-based personalized web learning system was developed based on this approach. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, an experiment was conducted in an elementary school mathematics course in Thailand. The experimental results showed that (1) the students learning with the proposed system revealed significantly better learning achievement and learning perceptions than those learnin...
