TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated whether a temporary structural change would induce a lasting increase in drivers' public transport use, and found that attitudes toward bus were more positive and the frequency of bus use increased, whereas the habits of using automobile decreased from before the intervention, even one month after the intervention period.

TL;DR: In this paper, a sample of 524 car owners living in a metropolitan area of Sweden answered survey questions measuring intention to perform collective proenvironmental behavior, awareness of egoistic, social-altruistic, and biospheric environmental consequences, personal norm, and ascribed responsibility.

Happiness and Satisfaction with work commute
TL;DR: A survey of work commuters in the three largest urban areas of Sweden show that satisfaction with the work commute contributes to overall happiness, and it is found that feelings during the commutes are predominantly positive or neutral.

Determinants of private car users' acceptance of road pricing
TL;DR: In this article, a model specifying the strength and direction of causal paths between latent theoretical variables was estimated for data from a survey of 524 car owners living in a metropolitan area of Sweden and found that acceptance of road pricing is negatively affected by perceived infringement on freedom and unfairness which in turn increase with intentions to reduce car use.

Behaviour Theory and Soft Transport Policy Measures
TL;DR: In this article, a general conceptual framework is presented to clarify how hard and soft transport policy measures impact on car-use reduction, and two different behavioural theories that have been used to account for car use and car use reduction are integrated in a self-regulation theory that identifies four stages of the process of voluntarily changing car use.
