TL;DR: In this paper, observations of 592 shoppers involved in 867 interactions with bulk food bins were made in 14 supermarkets. Frequent problem behaviors included hand use to retrieve products and snacking.
Abstract: Unobtrusive observations of 592 shoppers involved in 867 interactions with bulk food bins were made in 14 supermarkets. Frequent problem behaviors included hand use to retrieve products and snacking. Correlational analysis suggests that the two problems are related and concern the in-store consumption of snack items.

TL;DR: In this paper, a wind turbine airfoil model with linearly actuated microtabs has been tested in the UC Davis Aeronautical wind tunnel, where initial tests were conducted under static conditions at a Reynolds number of one million and during simulated wind gusts.
Abstract: This study aims to provide experimental and computation data to fully characterize the dynamic effects of deploying microtabs for active load control on wind turbine blades. A wind turbine airfoil model with linearly actuated microtabs has been tested in the UC Davis Aeronautical Wind Tunnel. Initial tests were conducted under static conditions at a Reynolds number of one million, followed by measurements of deploying microtabs under steady conditions and during simulated wind gusts. Wind tunnel results are compared with computational results generated using OVERFLOW2. Microtabs are deployed perpendicular to the surface of the airfoil, reaching a height 1% of the chord length. A microtab located at 95% chord on the pressure surface increases lift when deployed, while a tab at 90% chord on the suction surface decreases lift. Dynamic tests of microtabs on an airfoil subjected to rapid changes in airspeed demonstrated the ability of the tabs to control load excursions.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the prices of packaged and unpackaged items sold in the same retail outlet in 19 northern California supermarkets and found that the magnitude of potential price savings depended upon the size and type of product purchased.
Abstract: Prices of packaged and unpackaged items sold in the same retail out-let were compared in 19 northern California supermarkets. The magnitude of potential price savings depended upon the size and type of product purchased. Savings would most likely accrue to the purchaser of small rather than large quantities of unpackaged products. The future of unpackaged foods is linked to technical developments in sealed dispensers that limit customer access to the product.

TL;DR: While hundreds of articles identify problems with Internet computing or conducting eCommerce, no unified framework of technological impediments specific to eCommerce yet exists.
Abstract: Internet and World Wide Web technologies provide the infrastructure for the Electronic Commerce (e-Commerce) revolution now taking place. As a result of these technologies, even the smallest organization can afford to market its wares to hundreds of millions of potential e-Consumers. However, these technologies also pose threats to the very electronic commerce which they enable. For managers to strategize and implement e-Commerce effectively in their organizations, these impediments need to be recognized and understood. While hundreds of articles identify problems with Internet computing or conducting eCommerce, no unified framework of technological impediments specific to eCommerce yet exists.

TL;DR: In this paper, three recurrent neural network-based models were built for the prediction of short term ahead actual evapotranspiration, and two variants of each model were developed changing the employed algorithm, selecting between LSTM and NARX, while the modeling was performed in the context of an ensemble approach.
