TL;DR: For example, this article found that individuals with higher sexual preoccupation were more likely to engage in pornography use and risky sexual behaviours, while sexual pre-occupation did not significantly contribute to increased rates of sext dissemination.
Abstract: While sexting behaviours have attracted increasing research focus over the last decade as both normative and deviant forms of sexual activity, little attention has been paid to their potential associations with sexual preoccupation and heightened interest in sex. The current study sought to identify whether sexual preoccupation significantly predicts sending, receiving, and disseminating sexts, after controlling for pornography use and risky sexual behaviours. Young Australian adult participants (N = 654, 78.8% women) aged 18 to 34 (M = 19.78, SD = 1.66) completed an anonymous online self-report questionnaire regarding their engagement in sexting behaviours (sending, receiving, and dissemination), pornography use, risky sexual behaviours, and sexual preoccupation. Results showed that individuals with higher sexual preoccupation were more likely to engage in pornography use and risky sexual behaviours. Binary hierarchical logistic regressions revealed that sexual preoccupation predicted higher rates of sending and receiving sexts. However, sexual preoccupation did not significantly contribute to increased rates of sext dissemination. Our study illustrates the need to incorporate pornography viewing and sexting into the promotion of safe sexual behaviours in online and offline contexts, and the potential to utilise modern technology to negotiate safer sex practices.

TL;DR: This article found that three-quarters of 16- and 17-year-olds have been exposed to pornography, while 38 percent of boys and 2 percent of girls have deliberately accessed them.
Abstract: Youth in Australia are routinely exposed to sexually explicit images. Among 16- and 17-year-olds, three-quarters of boys and one-tenth of girls have ever watched an X-rated movie. Three-quarters of 16- and 17-year-olds have been exposed accidentally to pornographic websites, while 38 percent of boys and 2 percent of girls have deliberately accessed them. Internet pornography is a particularly pervasive source of minors’ exposure to pornography, both accidental and deliberate. Two features of children’s exposure to pornography mirror those among adults. First, males are more likely to seek out, and are more frequent consumers of, both X-rated movies and pornographic websites. Second, Internet users of any age find it difficult to avoid unwanted encounters with sexually explicit materials.

TL;DR: The MSQ-UA demonstrated appropriate psychometric properties and may be applied to assess a broad range of psychological patterns in sexual relationships in the Ukrainian-speaking population.
Abstract: Aim. Human sexuality is an important multidimensional subject for psychological research. However, the study of sexuality remains relatively closed for Ukrainian researchers, primarily due to a lack of valid and reliable measures of sexuality in general, and in particular, measures of psychological patterns in human sexuality. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to validate a self-report English-language tool, the Multidimensional Sexual Questionnaire (MSQ), for the Ukrainian language. Methods. A total of 1113 Ukrainian-speaking participants were administered the MSQ-UA. The MSQ-UA factor structure was measured using EFA and CFA procedures. Alpha and Omega estimates of internal consistency were calculated. The test-retest reliability was established in a five-week time period. The correlations of the MSQ-UA subscales with relevant psychopathology, personality measures and control statements were accomplished to prove the construct validity of the questionnaire. Results. Findings indicated that the MSQ-UA is an eleven-dimensional measure, which is almost identical to the original English-language version. Subscales of the MSQ-UA display acceptable excellent psychometric properties of internal consistency (Alpha and Omega within a range of 0.70 to 0.92). The test-retest reliability over the five-week period was appropriate (r=0.68-0.93). The MSQ-UA subscales demonstrated from moderate to high correlations with relevant measures, and the associations were absent or low in cases when criterion measures were irrelevant to the subscale. Conclusion. The MSQ-UA demonstrated appropriate psychometric properties and may be applied to assess a broad range of psychological patterns in sexual relationships in the Ukrainian-speaking population.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors explored how sexting was associated with depression, anxiety, sleep problems, and compulsive sexual behaviors across sex and sexual identity groups across 2,160 college students living in the United States.
Abstract: We explored how sexting (no sexting, sent only, received only, reciprocal) was associated with depression, anxiety, sleep problems, and compulsive sexual behaviors across sex and sexual identity groups. We also examined how substance use predicted sexting classifications. Data came from 2,160 college students living in the United States. Results indicated that 76.6 percent of the sample had engaged in sexting (primarily reciprocal). Participants who had engaged in sexting generally evidenced higher depression, anxiety, sleep problems, and compulsive sexual behaviors. Effect sizes were largest on compulsive sexual behavior indicators. Marijuana use was the only significant substance use predictor of reciprocal and "received only" sexting compared with no sexting. Illicit substance use (e.g., cocaine) was low base rate but descriptively was associated with sexting. Compulsive sexual behavior remained a robust positive correlate of sexting compared with non-sexting participants regardless of sex and sexual identity. Most other mental health indicators became nonsignificant correlates of sexting in nonheterosexual participants and were weak positive correlates in heterosexual participants. Marijuana use remained the only significant substance use predictor of reciprocal and "received only" sexting when adjusted for sex and sexual identity. We conclude that sexting is only weakly associated with depression, anxiety, and sleep problems but robustly associated with compulsive sexuality and marijuana use. These findings do not appear to vary meaningfully on the basis of sex or sexual identity, with the exception that the effect sizes between sexting and compulsive sexual behaviors were much stronger for females compared with males (regardless of sexual identity).

TL;DR: In this paper , a study was conducted to determine the relation between pornography browsing and aggression among university students, and it was concluded that pornography browsing is particularly evident among university student, and pornography browsing can predict aggressive behavior, recommending that providing Psycho-educational program about pornography browsing to students and their parents is vital to overcome adverse effects of pornography browsing.
Abstract: Pornography browsing has became particularly evident among University students to the extent that there are several physiological, psychological and mental changes that escalate aggressiveness and behavioral problems. This study was conducted to determine the relation between pornography browsing and aggression among university students. The study design was descriptive correlational design. Setting : the study was conducted at Faculties of Tanta University. Subjects: 1600 undergraduate students were selected according to stratified random sampling from both practical and theoretical faculties. Tools : data was collected using two tools; Buss & Perry aggression questionnaire, and problematic pornography consumption scale. The results revealed that the majority of the studied students had no evidence of problematic pornography browsing, and there was a highly significant positive moderate correlation between pornography browsing and aggression. It was concluded that pornography browsing is particularly evident among university students, and that pornography browsing can predict aggressive behavior. The study recommended that providing Psycho-educational program about pornography browsing to students and their parents is vital to overcome adverse effects of pornography browsing .
