Design optimization of urban typologies: A framework for evaluating building energy performance and outdoor thermal comfort

TL;DR: In this article, a multi-phase optimization framework for conceptual urban design is developed to identify an acceptable range of design solutions by broadening the perspective of the field toward using a more customized optimization framework in early design that will further guarantee the requirements of energy efficient and sustainable cities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tailored WBGT as a heat stress index to assess the direct solar radiation effect on indoor thermal comfort

TL;DR: In this article, the Radiance Daylight Coefficient (DC) method is used to assess incoming solar radiation and consequent indoor thermal discomfort through delta mean radiant temperature (ΔMRT), which allows expressing an adjusted predicted mean vote (Adjusted PMV).
