Stat-3 is required for pulmonary homeostasis during hyperoxia

TL;DR: Exposure of adult Stat-3-deleted mice to 95% oxygen caused a more rapidly progressive lung injury associated with alveolar capillary leak and acute respiratory distress, and intratracheal treatment with exogenous surfactant protein B improved survival and lung histology in Stat- 3-deletes mice during hyperoxia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Loss of mRor1 Enhances the Heart and Skeletal Abnormalities in mRor2-Deficient Mice: Redundant and Pleiotropic Functions of mRor1 and mRor2 Receptor Tyrosine Kinases

TL;DR: It is shown thatmRor1-deficient mice have no apparent skeletal or cardiac abnormalities, yet they also die soon after birth due to respiratory dysfunction, indicating that mROr1 and mRor2 interact genetically in skeletal and cardiac development.

Cutting Edge: Role of Toll-Like Receptor 1 in Mediating Immune Response to Microbial Lipoproteins 1

TL;DR: Taken together, TLR1 interacts with TLR2 to recognize the lipid configuration of the native mycobacterial lipoprotein as well as several triacylated lipopeptides.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lymphocytoid Choriomeningitis Virus Activates Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cells and Induces a Cytotoxic T-Cell Response via MyD88

TL;DR: Results suggest that recognition of LCMV by plasmacytoid DCs via TLRs is responsible for the production of type I IFNs in vivo, and the activation of a MyD88-dependent innate mechanism induces a CTL response, which eventually leads to virus elimination.
