Journal ArticleDOI

Dielectric and electro-optical properties of polymer-stabilized liquid crystal. II. Polymer PiBMA dispersed in MBBA

TL;DR: In this paper, the results of dielectric and electro-optical properties of pure MBBA and PSLC (polymer PiBMA dispersed in MBBA) systems were reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dielectric and electro-optical properties of zinc ferrite nanoparticles dispersed nematic liquid crystal 4’-Heptyl-4-biphenylcarbonnitrile

TL;DR: In this article, the dielectric and electro-optical properties of pristine and zinc ferrite (ZnFe2O4) nanoparticles (NPs) dispersed in host nematic 4ʹ-Heptyl-4-biphenyl carbonnitri...
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular theory of elastic constants of liquid crystals. II. Application to the biaxial nematic phase

TL;DR: The expression of distortion free energy derived is used to derive expressions for the 12 elastic constants of a biaxial nematic phase and it is shown that the contributions to elastic constants arising from biaXial ordering and the departure from the axial molecular symmetry are small.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhancement of birefringence of liquid crystals with dispersion of poly (n-butyl methacrylate) (PBMA)

TL;DR: In this paper, the temperature dependence of birefringence for pure liquid crystals and liquid crystal-polymer composite (LC-PC) systems was reported, and the enhancement of the electro-optica was discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Applicability of TiO2 nanoparticle towards suppression of screening effect in nematic liquid crystal

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors observed that dispersion of TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) in NLC has suppressed the undesired ionic effect, which is attributed to the strong adsorption of ionic impurities on the surface of NPs.
