Abstract: In order to measure thrust of the micro-turbojet engine accurately, a new type of thrust measurement system was designed. The measuring system includes test bench, load cells, data acquisition modules and computer. The test bench utilizes a suspended test bed, which is different from the test bench supported by springs for aero-engine. It has simple structure and is easy to install and debug. The errors of the measuring system are analyzed from the influence factors of the thrust line and the error of the test instrument. At last, the axial loading static calibration method of the measuring system is introduced. Calibration results show that the thrust measuring system can achieve accuracy of ±0.33%, which is satisfied with the requirement of the test. Abstract: Bump foil journal bearings (BFJBs) are widely used in the superchargers of aviation piston engines (APEs). This paper proposes a method to evaluate the operating state of superchargers by monitoring the bearing temperature. A numerical model with a repeating symmetrical structure in the axial direction is established based on a certain type of supercharger, which solves the temperature field of BFJBs with the non-isothermal Reynolds equation and energy equation. It can be used to analyze the effect of thermal expansion on lift-off speed and stop-contact speed. A new test rig and six various BFJBs were designed to check the temperature characteristics of the BFJBs with variable load and speed. By comparing the numerical results with the experimental results, it was shown that the air film temperature increased almost linearly with the increase in bearing load and speed. However, the temperature increase caused by the rotation speed was significantly greater than the load. The structural parameters of the BFJB affected the bearing support stiffness, which had a nonlinear effect on the lift-off speed and air film temperature. Therefore, the proposed method to evaluate the state of superchargers with BFJBs was effective. These thermal characteristics can be used to guide BFJB design and predict the life cycle of BFJBs.

Abstract: Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) have proved a feasible option to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Furthermore, energy management strategies (EMSs) play a pivotal role in the performance of HEVs. This paper presents a novel real-time EMS, namely fuzzy adaptive-equivalent consumption minimization strategy (Fuzzy A-ECMS), for a parallel HEV. The proposed EMS is formulated by combining the ECMS, which is derived from Pontryagin's minimum principle (PMP), with a fuzzy logic controller adjusting the equivalent factor (EF) based on the deviation between reference state of charge (SOC) and actual SOC for a better SOC trajectory. Improved fuel economy and SOC charge sustainability are the main control objectives. To test and verify the performance of the studied controller, comparative simulations of the Fuzzy A-ECMS and rule-based EMS, conventional SOC-based A-ECMS together with standard ECMS under different standard driving cycles and a real driving cycle are conducted via MATLAB/Simulink and AVL CRUISE. The simulation results show the feasibility and effectiveness of Fuzzy A-ECMS, yielding 0.46% to 5.91% reduction of fuel consumption and more stable SOC charge sustainability compared with the other three EMSs.
